Lisa is not our property. We are the fans
Lisa has got a free will, freedom to choose what she likes to do.We are not the puppeteers and she is not a puppet on a string. So is no one on this world.
I am so sad of this Roll Eyes and i agree with Alex Blanc. To find someone really special unique means deal with tactfulness and senstiveness not beeing a elephant in a china store (lol..even if Lisa love to do) Big Grin Big Grin

Capri:

The intention of what I wrote was not to make anyone feel guilty, much less sorrow, but rather to help us all get a fresh perspective on the Event and to reiterate how much you all mean to Lisa.

We're all learning here, and one of the best lessons we can learn is to let go of feeling ashamed or guilty, both of which do nothing but cause sorrow and turn off our joy.

So.... let it go.
And, smile.
Big Grin

Thanks for reminding us of the notion of being grateful, and practicing to be so more and more each day.

What a marvelously different world this will be when we realize the magnificent power of gratitude!
(... hopefully, come Thanksgiving, the world will make a quantum leap forward...)

* runs to admire a passing cloud, and thanks Capri *

Too right, Alex! Smiler You're a great moderator and I thank you for your continued support of the LMFP fam'...Obviously it is thanks to you and of course Lisa that the Q&A goes ahead and I am very appreciative that we all get a fair chance of communicating with Lisa. We know how precious her time is and for her to organize these events is just awesome and I think we all need to just be grateful that it can occur at all (the very fact we are communicating at all from different parts of the world, many different ppl, many different places & opinions...all with the common objective to support a truly talented artist and follow her musical career)...ahhh the wonders of modern technology!! Smiler Big Grin Wink

Thanks, Lisa...Thanks, Alex Big Grin Cheers!

Alex thank you for the full explanation.
I, personally, was not too upset that my question was not answered because it was a long process in itself waiting, let alone for poor Lisa who had to sit and type all that time.

Either way thank you Lisa!
And Alex

I didnt get my question answered this time around, nor the last time. There is no reason for any one of us to be bitter about not having our questions answered.
Lisa is very gracious to come talk to us, and let us into her life, if only for brief moments at a time.
I was glad peeps have posted the Q&A on their sites, so I could catch up on the ones I missed reading, but I do see your point on not keeping them up.
As far as the newbies. Its great that we are getting new members, as long as their intentions are fan based and not for other reasons that may cause the negativity that we had to endure on the old forum. I know theres a few of us, myself included, who are very leary of newbies and tend to be a little defensive at times.
My only concern is with the influx of newbies all at once, which caused the site to crash the night of the Q&A. It was frustrating to say the least, an I'm pretty sure it wasnt much fun for you either. Maybe next time the news letter could go out a week or 2 sooner, so new peeps can register earlier.

Thanks again Alex. Cool
And a very special Thank You to Lisa for being here for us. Big Grin [/qb]
Think that says it all!!

Thanks Alex and thanks Lisa!!

I didn't get my question answered - but hold no bitterness about it because I know Lisa is sooooooo busy. I'm just glad she answered as many questions as she did - loved reading her replies. In fact a couple of the questions I considered asking were answered anyway.

Anyway, thanks again!

Tracy

Alex, Very well said in both posts. Thanks for all that you and Lisa do. I really appreciate the opportunity of communicating with Lisa. Lisa is a VERY special person to do what she does for her fans. I know how much time a family and career take out of the day(having two boys of my own). And for Lisa to schedule time for us fans really means a lot.

Truly grateful Big Grin

My name may read "new", but I have been following LMP all of our lives!!! I have been on this site SO many times and had registered under a different name, but forgot the password (there are SO many pw's to remember!). I was thrilled that she answered my question, but I only knew that she was going to answer questions because I received an e-mail (and you KNOW I got a new member name & pw right away!!!)!

I printed out a couple of the q&a's, but wouldn't even consider posting it for anyone other than members. I feel that if she's answering our questions in here, that this is where it should stay, in here...

Just my opinion...

Mary Helen

PS Since rejoining, I have met someone in my town, and been reading others posts regularly... I have found nothing but really cool peeps! But then again, wouldn't you have to be to be a fan Wink

Some well meaning Members, no doubt with their hearts in the right place, have copied and posted the Ask Lisa event on their websites.
This happened last time, and was repeated this go-around.

We ask that anyone thinking of doing this in the future think twice, and offer the following fodder:

The event goes 'Up' for a reason: to allow Lisa and her fans to reach out to each other through the graces of the web, and communicate to one another personally, brief as it may be.

Not many other artists of her stature would even think of doing this, much less bother to do it, or have the guts to execute it, all the while 'shooting from the hip'.

In her mind, this is one small way of giving back to her Fans that which she receives from them.
Another words, she considers the Event a way of showing her hearfelt appreciation to you, her Fans, and more specifically, to the Forum Members whom she realizes are there everyday.

Which brings us to the reason that it goes 'Down'.
If it were to remain 'live', it would be there for the world to see, anytime, and by the very public nature of it, would lose it's special meaning and wash out the original intent behind the Event.

You might think of it this way:
- - If Christmas was celebrated everyday, how long would it be before you took it for granted?

Last point.
Some long standing Members expressed a bitter resentment at the fact that their questions weren't answered while some newcomers questions were.

The Newsletter sent out just prior to the Event gathered hundreds of new registrations, some from long standing LMP fans eager to be able to ask her a question.
Some got their wish, others didn't.
And some long standing Members got their wish, and others didn't.

In my attempts to help to heal the hurt of a long standing Member, I offered the following analogy:
- - Imagine that you were to throw a party, invited your close friends, and when they asked if they could bring some of their friends, you said 'sure'.
When they all arrived, would you be any less gracious to the people you'd never met than to your close friends?

Lisa's last wish would be for any Members to be hurt in any way by her not having gotten the chance to answer questions, be they from newcomers or from long standing Members. She always does the best she possibly can within the time frame that her schedule allows, which, to put it mildly, is wickedly full.

To help relieve any hurt feelings, please focus on the following:
-- When Lisa was asked "What makes all the effort you put into your musical career worthwhile?" she answered simply: "The Fans".

She means it.
Rest assured EVERY ONE OF YOU are included in her thoughts and heart, that you are indeed loved and appreciated, and that YOU are all EQUALLY the reason behind her musical efforts.

Wink [/qb]
All I have to say is, Job well done Alex...You couldn't have explained this to us any better...& I thank Lisa so much for doing this for us...I asked a question n didn't get it answered...but I'm not really mad because I know she had like more than 100 questions to answer...so I wasn't complaining. One good thing that the section is not kept up is because you know how the media is w. Lisa...just look at like the tabloids everyday, they take things from her website that she says, quotes them, then turns the words around & then puts an evil spin on it to make her look like a bitch. So I guess alot of you out there could totally understand by what Alex is saying, & I agree, I hate seeing Lisa on the cover of tabloids all of the time, it just really pisses me off. That's why at least this Ask Lisa is something that we can all have & hold in our hearts n minds forever because if we had it up & the media took it & put a nasty spin on it, you wouldn't have anything to treasure anymore. It's just like as if you had a baby that you loved so much & then child wellfare took it away. That's kinda like how it is. Just know that Lisa does love all of us...the real fans. Thnx so much for being awesome Lisa...u really have no idea how much we all appreciate it...you truly are a one in a million...much love to you & your family & friends... Smiler

peace,
kristen
