Some well meaning Members, no doubt with their hearts in the right place, have copied and posted the Ask Lisa event on their websites. This happened last time, and was repeated this go-around.

We ask that anyone thinking of doing this in the future think twice, and offer the following fodder:
The event goes 'Up' for a reason: to allow Lisa and her fans to reach out to each other through the graces of the web, and communicate to one another personally, brief as it may be.

Not many other artists of her stature would even think of doing this, much less bother to do it, or have the guts to execute it, all the while 'shooting from the hip'.
In her mind, this is one small way of giving back to her Fans that which she receives from them.

Another words, she considers the Event a way of showing her hearfelt appreciation to you, her Fans, and more specifically, to the Forum Members whom she realizes are there everyday.

Which brings us to the reason that it goes 'Down'.

If it were to remain 'live', it would be there for the world to see, anytime, and by the very public nature of it, would lose it's special meaning and wash out the original intent behind the Event.

You might think of it this way:
- - If Christmas was celebrated everyday, how long would it be before you took it for granted?

Last point.

Some long standing Members expressed a bitter resentment at the fact that their questions weren't answered while some newcomers questions were.

The Newsletter sent out just prior to the Event gathered hundreds of new registrations, some from long standing LMP fans eager to be able to ask her a question.
Some got their wish, others didn't.
And some long standing Members got their wish, and others didn't.

In my attempts to help to heal the hurt of a long standing Member, I offered the following analogy:
- - Imagine that you were to throw a party, invited your close friends, and when they asked if they could bring some of their friends, you said 'sure'.
When they all arrived, would you be any less gracious to the people you'd never met than to your close friends?

Lisa's last wish would be for any Members to be hurt in any way by her not having gotten the chance to answer questions, be they from newcomers or from long standing Members. She always does the best she possibly can within the time frame that her schedule allows, which, to put it mildly, is wickedly full.

To help relieve any hurt feelings, please focus on the following:
-- When Lisa was asked "What makes all the effort you put into your musical career worthwhile?" she answered simply: "The Fans".

She means it.

Rest assured that EVERY ONE OF YOU are included in her thoughts and in her heart, that you are indeed loved and appreciated, and that YOU are all EQUALLY the reason behind her musical efforts.

I just wanted to thank you for your continued awesome job you do here everyday. I also wanted to say to the members that may be complaining about not having there questions answered, there will be another. I didn't get my question answered this time around, but I know that Lisa has very little time to be able to do this. The fact that she takes any time to talk to us, shows how great she is. I'm sure she would've like to be able to answer all of our questions, but lets face it, if she stopped to answer all of them, that's all she would be doing. There will be another ask Lisa event sometime in the future. (I'm hoping.)So if you didn't get your question answered this time, write it down and ask it next time. Also, I big hello to all the newbies.

I didnt get my question answered this time around, nor the last time. There is no reason for any one of us to be bitter about not having our questions answered.
Lisa is very gracious to come talk to us, and let us into her life, if only for brief moments at a time.
I was glad peeps have posted the Q&A on their sites, so I could catch up on the ones I missed reading, but I do see your point on not keeping them up.
As far as the newbies. Its great that we are getting new members, as long as their intentions are fan based and not for other reasons that may cause the negativity that we had to endure on the old forum. I know theres a few of us, myself included, who are very leary of newbies and tend to be a little defensive at times.
My only concern is with the influx of newbies all at once, which caused the site to crash the night of the Q&A. It was frustrating to say the least, an I'm pretty sure it wasnt much fun for you either. Maybe next time the news letter could go out a week or 2 sooner, so new peeps can register earlier.

yes thanks Alex for that statement. I was getting sort of fed up with some of the complaints on the board. It was well said and put like whoever um...said somehere. Yes posting it everywhere seems not as cool as having it for just us. I however will admit that I posted my q and my answer to it on my livejournal for a specific purpose of the entry itself and most people unless
they have a livejournal don't read it or leave comments ! To post that specific question and that specific answer about the fans was a good one. Fans please be grateful. I had many friends who didn't get their question answered and I think I was more disappointed for them than they were for themselves. Like the Great and Powerful Mod said before in his closed annoucement on the Ask Lisa section there will be more events. So You still have a chance to ask a question and get it answered. Cheer up ! Once again Alex thanks for posting this.

Thanks Alex and ofcouse thank you Lisa for being so great and for setting up the Ask sessions! and eventhough my question wasnt asnswered i don't begrudge n e 1s who was, i just consider them extremely lucky! and most of the questions answered were ones I wished i could hvae asked aswell as my own. We all got something out of just out of the fact that Lisa gave us her time for which I will and ofcourse everyone else will be extremely grateful for 4 a long time

I did get my question answered and am honored but @ the same time I wish that everyone's question could have been...there were a lot of great one's out there..but she had only so much time.

I didn't get on the board for the last one because it was so jammed up so see things can change...if not answered this time then next time...but if we all continue to complain about this she might just say "forget it" and there will not be a next time...you know? So let's all just be grateful that she even did this.
