Perhaps Madonna has been spending a lot of time playing Candy Land with the kids lately, because she has revealed the name of her next album to be LICORICE with a song called "Candy Shop." The news was let loose on Larry Flick’s show on Sirius Satellite Radio's OutQ channel Thursday morning, when Flick played "Candy Shop" along with another new tune, "The Beat Goes On," and revealed the name of the album. Licorice will be Madonna's final effort for Warner Bros., the label she has been with for her entire career, and it is due in April. Kanye West and Pharrell Williams both reportedly guest on the CD, and an older, unreleased tune, "The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You," will appear on the album in a new version, according to Billboard.com.

As previously reported, with the completion of her deal with Warner Bros., Madonna has inked a new pact with Live Nation that will see the concert promoter handling her album releases, tours, merchandising, film projects, DVDs and anything else related to the Madonna brand. The global partnership with the company will find Madonna becoming the founding artist in Live Nation's new Artist Nation division.

"My time with Warner Bros. Records has been great," she said. "I appreciate their hard work and value the many relationships I have developed over the years with the label in the U.S. and around the world. I have an album coming out with them next year and I'm excited about it. We still have work to do together."

Sirius OutQ host Larry Flick revealed to the world that Madonna's 2008 album will be called Licorice. However, a spokesperson for Warner Bros. has debunked Flick's announcement, telling Reuters, "Sirius does not know what they are talking about. Wrong title. Release date wrong, etc."

Madonna has dubbed her final album of new material for Warner Bros. Records Hard Candy, and it will be released on April 29. The record will feature production by Timbaland, Pharrell Williams and Nate "Danjahandz" Hills, according to an Entertainment Weekly report. The album, which features songs such as "Candy Store" and the first single, "Four Minutes To Save The World," is the follow-up to 2005's Confessions on a Dance Floor.

"She loves candy," her representative, Liz Rosenberg, told EW about Madonna's sugary album title. "It's about the juxtaposition of tough and sweetness, or as Madonna so eloquently expressed: 'I'm gonna kick your ***, but it's going to make you feel good.'"

The release of the record will come not long after Madonna's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10. She will be inducted by another star who guests on her new album, Justin Timberlake. Joining her in the 2008 class will be John Mellencamp, who will be inducted by Billy Joel; Leonard Cohen, who will be inducted by Lou Reed; The Dave Clark Five, who will be inducted by Tom Hanks, and more.

With her new album, Hard Candy, due on April 29, Madonna spoke to the Yo on E! satellite radio show about her new music and her continued support for Britney Spears. When asked why some of her more recent albums seemed to connect more with her overseas fan base than her U.S. one, she guessed it was because of the albums' British producers and the fact that "the vibe was more European."

"Now my co-pilots are American and it has more of an American feel," she said of Hard Candy. "It is sexy. I think it's got some hard set beats, but there's some sweetness on top. I like the juxtaposition."

As for fellow Pop star Britney Spears, Madonna told Yo on E! that the paparazzi needs to "step off." "For real... Let's go save her," she said, noting that her 11-year-old daughter Lourdes is still a big fan of the singer. "She knows Britney, but doesn't catch all that gossip stuff. So I think she sorta gets the drift of what's going on, and I think she's kind of protective of Britney."

Meanwhile, rumors of a full Madonna world tour this year have geared up after a listing for a gig at the Southeast Conference Theatre in Florida appeared on the AOL ticket Web site. The listing was taken down, according to NME.com, but in conjunction with rumors that Madonna may play one-off gigs in Paris, New York and London in the coming months, the posting has increased speculation that the singer will announce a tour soon.

Madonna will perform live at New York's Roseland Ballroom on April 30, with the performance airing live on MSN Music in Concert at www.music.msn.com. Her new album, Hard Candy, comes out the day before. The performance will be available online outside the U.S. as of May 15.
