Well im Gina new here and i just wanted to tell Lisa what she and her music mean to me...
I was 13 when Lisa released her first album and my uncle bought it for me (he is a great fan of Lisa's father and bought me the album as a gift well he didnt know what to get).
anyways that week i was at home i listend to the CD all the time since i couldnt get out of bed for a while and at that time i really did NOT want to get out of bed..
i was being bullied so badly at school and made fun of you name it and it happened to me...
i had moved to a new country months earlier left my friends behind..and my idol had just died (Johnny Cash) soo all was Sh*t and there i was listening to a woman who first and above all had an amazing voice, GREAT lyrics, a woman who was supposed to be the Princess to the world of music so ppl instantly thinks easy life....but no there was great pain and hurt and hope all at the same time
i felt as if i were there with her all the way because when lisa sang i believed every word she sang and that is the kind of songs and singing that truely saves people.
I know it saved me...I thought hey people have ups and sometimes very steep downs but she pulled herself out of it and there is hope, a light at the end of the tunnel and im gonna do this thing for better or for worse. So when i went back to school it was the same old stuff but this time i didnt blame myself i knew people are cruel and i also knew that all what they are doing to me will some day come back to them. when i would go home i would write all this pain down to get it off my chest and never read it back to myself i would lock it up somewhere. it felt as if a weight was lifted off my chest it was great that year was coming to an end when the wait was over my father was moving us the hell out of there and that was when i kissed a match and burnt all my pain away just like that...thanks to you Lisa! and today i just came back from my 3rd day of orientation at Georgetown University Qatar branch I was one of the 40 people they accepted worldwide and i believe in my heart of hearts that i owe it to you. I also owe you something else through you i discovered your father's music so to me you are not standing in anybody's shadow to me you have a shadow of your own. hold you head to the sky Lisa and Rock On cuz thats what you do best!!

welcome to this side here i am also a new member. lisa is great and has a unique style...that i have not seen before.
i like some of her fathers songs too...

Firstly, welcome to the LMP family!

Secondly, your post really touched me and I can relate to what your saying as Lisa has had a similar big impact on my life, for many reasons (as she has for a lot of people here).
