The Sweet Escape Tour presented by Verizon kicks off this April 22nd at Coors Amphitheatre in San Diego and concludes on June 23rd in Irvine, CA at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

Joining Gwen on tour is the platinum-selling singer Akon, who also sings on and produced the new single “The Sweet Escape.” Rounding out the bill is British MC Lady Sovereign.
"I'm excited to have this opportunity to tour with Akon and Lady Sovereign, two original artists that I have so much respect for" Gwen said. "I can’t wait to get out there. This show is going to be spectacular!"

Gwen spoke to MTV News about the differences between this year's tour and the one she went on in support of her first solo record, Love, Angel, Music, Baby. On that last tour, "I was about four and a half months pregnant, which was totally not a good idea," Stefani said. "I highly recommend not getting pregnant and going on tour! So if you're thinking about going on tour, do not get pregnant."

As for the Sweet Escape tour, she promises, "This time will be more fun. And I love the idea of being able to go into my theatrical side with [son] Kingston on the outside instead of on the inside. It was such a weird experience." She continued, "I have, like, nine costume changes. It's kind of me indulging my theatrical side a little bit that I don't really get to do with No Doubt, so the show is a lot sweeter. It's basically a big show."

I saw Gwens's last tour, it was ok, but I was not overly impressed. She announced her pregnancy a few weeks after I saw her. I have her new cd, I have only played it once, I need to give it more of a chance, I guess. My personal opinion of Gwen's solo music is that she is all about the money and not the music. I wish her all the best on her "big show"! I am glad she is not coming to Cleveland, so I don't have to decide if I should buy a ticket to see her. I wish she would get back to making good music. That's just my opinion, not trying to ruffle any feathers!

I actually havent heard her new CD yet. I have to say that when I saw her with the Black Eyed Peas,, I actually liked their show better, they had me dancing like a fool!!! LOL But hey ya never know, it could be a cool show and I know there are fans of hers on this forum.

Gwens appearance on Letterman was a repeat, she sang Wind It Up. So you didn't miss anything after all Capri! I have been playing her new cd all weekend, deciced I shouldn't criticize without listening more. I absolutely love the song Early Winter!! I think 4 in the Morning, Fuorecent, Breakin Up, and Wonderful Life are pretty good. Kinda like Orange County Girl. Not crazy about the others, and I absolutely hate Yummy! Could be better, could be worse. Just my opinion.
