Now my mother has put my 3 yr old son and 5 yr old daughter on Ritalin and Strattera. Says my daughter has ADD and my son has ADHD! STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT!!!!!! They can't even FALSLY diagnose a 3 or 5yr old. RIGHT??

IS THERE NOTHING I CAN DO BEFORE COURT?????

when I saw my kids, they were a train wreck, or maybe I was the train wreck seeing them. THEY ARE LIKE UNPLUGGED SPACE CASES!!! It made me cry when I left.

Please pray for them. All 3 of them are now on meds that they don't need!

How did your mother put them on Ritalin? did she take them to a DR. -- does she have medical authority for them? What do you mean when you saw them?? Confussed here

Having guardianship in this state DOES mean she has medical authority to allow docs to give them stuff. I am questioning my authority here to do something to stop it as biological mother. She doesn't have legal CUSTODY. I still do. BUT....the system as we know is FUBARed, and in a court battle everything is up for grabs. I have to pay to see my children at a rate of $45.00per hour. I gave her guardianship last year during a divorce proceed. Went to court in Nov. 05 to reverse it.

I know someone out there knows SOMEONE who has been thru similar. That is why I posted. Lisa'a lyrics have been used in my court case against my mother because she can say some really useful prolific things that I could not have worded better. (see link in first post)

guardianship doesnt give her authority to overdose anyone...adult or child...she fills the prescriptions ..and it seems to me she is doing this illegal....and so i would call and alert the pharmacist of the kids being given the drugs and the pharmacist will know exactly what to do. ...
and question...jw....why do you have to pay to see your kids ...when you said it was your decision to give guardianship to your mother during your divorce. ...and you said that its temporary custody until divorce was over. ...
ive just never heard of a judge ordering you to pay to see them ..do you mean that you have to pay her for child support while she is guardianship??? ...thats probably what it is ...and also....if you think your mom is drugging your children you need to find out the doctor and the pharmicist that fills the medicine for her ...and the pharmacist would make one phone call and ...if it was illegal it would be taken care of immediatly. exspecially with kids. ...becoz if im not mistaken Ritilan IS A NARCOTIC. ...and the FDA (according to my psychiatrist of 5 years) doesnt want doctors to prescribe any narcotics period anymore and they are going to start having MAJOR guidlines ...you now have to give your social sec. # if you are rec'ng any narcotic ...at walgreens atleast....ie xanax is #1 on their list...and im sure Ritalin is on there. ...
so you need to STOP what is happening instead of worrying. ...so find out the doctors name...or pharmicist would be better and he would know exactly what to do. hope that helps. ....
if you have an order from court stating that its only temp. custody and she is ordered to give the kids back when your divorce is final ...then you can take police and that court order and take your kids right then if you divorce is final.....take care...

majik, you have been such a caring friend here. I really appreciate all you have to say. I do pay her child support. She is getting about $2,400.00 a month for all 3 kids. And now I have been ordered to pay for REDICULOUS supervised visitation. She is fighting the ending of gaurdianship because of financial gain. She has made all sorts of false claims against me now, as she is in finacial doo doo on her credit. She has always had a spending problem and lives beyond all her means. So I have to fight the lies now. Everyone involved in the case, her side included, knows she is "whacked" & "twisted" (named to her by both attorneys she has fired already) and the one previous called her "the black widow". Hopefully that gives enough info from HER OWN lawyers that I don't have to add anymore.

Her firing of attorneys has made this whole process start over and over again as I am sure you could guess. So it will be caught up in legal ties until August now as she has hired another attorney. My kids are suffering by the wayside, as well as financially for me. I can no longer afford to pay for supervised visitation, so I am only seeing the kids about twice a month. I talk to them M, W, F, for 20 minutes. Any parent knows that that feels like nothing. I just received GREAT correspondance from CCHR today and they say they are going to try to find someone in my area to help with the narcotics my children are receiving.

I am growing weary of all of this. It has been going on since October of last year that I have been in court over termination. I just want my kids back, period. Then I can make all of these decisions myself as to what they need. But for now, it is the most heartbreaking thing I have ever been thru IN MY LIFE!

I am in a similiar boat with my son. Because I had to go overseas, I gave my ex's parents "Managerial Custody" of my son. Which sounds like what your mother has of your kids. And if that is so, then yes she has the right to make medical decisions for them. My son has severe ADHD and he too is on all these medications that I can not stand him to be on. I am about to go thru a battle with the grandmother once I come back stateside to take them off managerial custody so I can help my son get off these horrible drugs. They say they are to help him, but how can it when the poor kid is so medicated that he walks around like a zoned out person because he is on sedatives and other ****?

I feel your pain! I think that sometimes medication for children in moderation is ok if it helps them, but this is going way over board!!

PLEASE CALL FIND OUT WHO IS PRESCRIBING THESE TO THEM ....JUST ASK YOUR MOMS WHO IT IS ...or look on the medicine bottle and the pharmicist will start an investigation just from that fact that you said "walking around like a zombie" (no pun rob lol) are they in school?
i know the guardian can make med. decisions for a child ...im saying its the doctor who is prescribing the medication ..is doing something out of line by not pay attention to the behavior of the child patient. ...and YES anyone can tell if a child is over medicated. ....as of custody ...im not a mom and cant have kids anymore so, i shouldnt really say anything about that except...hey rhond what do you do for a living if you dont mind me asking? and once your divorce is final you can take the physical peice of paper stating that it is final ..the (Order) and get a police officer to go w/ you and he will be able to let you get your kids on the spot if all your "ducks are in a row anyway" ...again...im just guessing. ...im not an attorney.

and why all of a sudden just because ya'lls parents have temp. custody are your kids on meds? ...thats a strange coincidence. (sp?)

I wish I had advice to give you, but I don't. But you do have my sympathies and prayers to help you get through this. It sounds terrible and I sincerely hope that the legal system in America prevails and gives you back custody. I wish I could do more..
