The arena was cold, but the excitement was high. I stood looking around. This was my first time at the Nashville Arena (AKA Gaylord Entertainment Center) and I was trying to take in every single detail. We had floor tickets, which was standing room only and somehow I had squeezed my way very close to the stage. A banner hung down in front of a large black and white curtain that said, "Finger Eleven".

Finger Eleven and Chevelle were the opening bands, and promptly at 7:30 Finger 11 took the stage. They were pretty good. I liked a lot of the songs, and the lead singer had pretty good stage presence. They kinda reminded me of Three Days Grace. Their set probably lasted for 30 to 35 minutes.

Chevelle was the second band, and my least favorite of the two. I can't tell you what any of their songs was about, much less what they said in them. They basically screamed the lyrics out, and I didn't hear a single thing they said. Sorry… I just didn't care for them and their set was even longer. I'm willing to bet they played at least 50 minutes… Ok, maybe 45 but it felt like eternity! I didn't think it was ever gonna end!

Now onto the real show!

They took the Finger 11 and Chevelle banner down. All that was left was the black and white curtain, which covered the entire stage. We waited for 20 minutes and then the lights went out, plunging the arena into total darkness. The opening notes of 'Sweet Sacrifice' begin, and the curtain pulled back to revel Amy Lee and company. I swear she floated to the front of the stage. I've never seen anything like it. I was, and still am amazed.

All through the concert Amy Lee was right on pitch. Her voice is amazing, and she can totally sing LIVE. Someone told me just before I went that Evanescence wasn't any good Live. I've never heard anything more untrue in my life. IT WAS AMAZING!

My favorite part of the show was probably when she performed 'Lithium', which is probably my favorite song off "The Open Door". She sat down at the Piano and played her heart out, and while she carried the song through with such brilliant ease snow fell from the roof onto the stage, and onto the crowd. It looked stunning with the eerie blue light that spilled across the arena. It really fit the mood of the song perfectly.

Here's the set list (I tried to get it as close to the order as I could)

Sweet Sacrifice

Weight of the World

Going Under

Tourniquet

Imaginary

The Only One

Good Enough

Lithium

Call Me When You're Sober

My Last Breath

Bring Me to Life

Haunted

All That I've Living For (dedicated to the fans!)

My Immortal

Your Star

The only complaint I have about the show was that they didn't sing my all time favorite EV song of all… "Everybody's Fool"! I LOVE THAT SONG! Oh, well… I got over it.

In closing, this was an awesome concert! Amy Lee is a powerhouse, and her voice is amazing. It never tired and never wavered though the entire concert. I'll BE seeing them AGAIN! No doubt about that!
