Jamie Lynn Spears Says She's Pregnant

NEW YORK (AP) — Another Spears baby is reportedly on the way — and it's not Britney's. Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old "Zoey 101" star and sister of Britney, tells OK! magazine that she's pregnant and that the father is her longtime boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.
"It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected," she says. "I was in complete and total shock and so was he."
Spears is 12 weeks along and initially kept the news to herself when she learned of the pregnancy from an at-home test and subsequent doctor visit, she told the celebrity magazine, which hits stands in New York on Wednesday and the rest of the country by Friday.
"As soon as I found out for sure from the doctor, I took two weeks to myself where I didn't tell anybody," she says. "Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone's opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me."
Spears broke the news to her mother, Lynne, just before Thanksgiving, the magazine says.
"She was very upset because it wasn't what she expected at all," Spears says. "A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive."
Lynne Spears, already grandmother to Britney's young sons, says: "I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."
She says her actress daughter, the telegenic heroine of the popular Nickelodeon series "Zoey 101," has known Aldridge for years and began dating him in high school.
Jamie Lynn plans to raise the baby in her home state of Louisiana — "so it can have a normal family life."
The third season of "Zoey 101" wraps up Jan. 4.
"I haven't spoken to (Nickelodeon) personally, but they have always been so great to me over the past years and have given me so many opportunities."
What message does she want to send to other teens about premarital sex?
"I definitely don't think it's something you should do; it's better to wait," she says. "But I can't be judgmental because it's a position I put myself in."

well lots of kids have sex and get pregnant. I feel because she's famous she's(Not you PLYE) going to be judge rather harshly from the public and she seems to have a head on her shoulders. She seems up until this point to be a "good kid". Not that I think getting pregnant makes her a bad kid. I sort of see where this might go with her Nick show. I hope they are more supportive of her than Disney was of Vanessa. I mean nude pictures are a lot different though than being pregnant I guess. At least she's the normal sister. At 16 she made a mature decision to raise her child normally out of the spotlight. I think she has been following big sister britney reports too. No wonder she kept it to herself at first. I love Jamie Lynn.

I agree, Jac, I'm sure plenty will have knives out. She has managed to keep her head together despite watching her sister being tarred and feathered by the world's media and too many peeps who'd rather judge someone they don't know than use the energy to better themselves or those around them.

WOW ..... I don't give a s hit who your sister is or how much $$ you have .. having a child at 16 is going to be so tough.

I am 28 and am still having a time getting my head around it ... LOL! It is such a huge undertaking and she has NO IDEA what lies in store for her.

well the Stork sure does suprise people doesn't he? I hope she has a healthy bundle of joy and focuses on being a good mom. It is her decision and it is a life long commitment. Being a good mother is probably the most important job in the entire world, IMHO. The effects are seen and felt in society for years of each life that is born unto the earth.

I didn't even read to the end - it is SO RIDICULOUS when little bimbos keep saying "ohhh it was SO unexpected, I was shocked when I found out I was pregnant" blah blah. Geeeeezzzz. If you have sex, it is HIGH CHANCE you might get pregnant, for God's sake. Actually, that's what sex initially was for. I hate bimbos.

Indre I LOVE you, but this doesn't mean she's a bimbo. Teenagers do realize their is a chance of getting pregnant. I am sure a condom and or pill was used which sometimes aren't 100%. Just because you're shocked and surprised that it actually happened doesn't make you a bimbo. Actually it's not always a High chance. It's a chance but no more high of a chance than anything else in life. You should've read the whole thing. She is comes across as a lot smarter than her 26 year old sister mother of two. I bet at 16 she'll even be a better mother than Britney and that is pathetic.

16 is a CHILD, not a MOTHER, no matter how "smart" or "good mother" she is. Age does count. When you grow older, your attitudes change, you see some life, some good and rough times, and everything. And when you're 16, there's no chance of maturity. Has she graduated from college? school??? Does she have a secure job for a long time? Or are others gonna support her? Oh, she's an "actress" now. but she is a CHILD. Is it for a long time, that job? You need to be RESPONSIBLE for the child you give life to. A 16 year old is not even liable to all criminal code laws, which means this person is not even an adult legally.. I don't know, maybe children ARE to be parents of children...in my old fashioned point of view, only ADULTS can be parents..
Btw, I don't think Brit is too much of a bad mom, it was her that was left pregnant and with child at home while Kev was out partying for her money.

She's from Louisiana. Britney should go back there, her behavior is normal for down there.

Indre I didn't say kids shouldn't have children, but they do. She is not any different from others like her. I just feel it's unfair to call her a bimbo for being surprised about it is what I meant. Of course she must realize she has to now grow up faster than she would if she hadn't gotten pregnant and I agree with k-fed going out partying and stuff but Britney isn't a great mother. Don't think she's a bad mom. I do think K-fed is an ***. But I do think Britney isn't a good mom either.
