I was on base earlier and thank god I just missed this, but I feel gutted about the un-needed loss of life of my fellow Soldiers. I can only pray that its not some of my friends.


Multiple Shootings at Fort Hood

KCEN has confirmed a mass shooting on Fort Hood in Killeen.

There are now reports of a third shooter who has opened fire on Fort Hood. One policeman is down.

So far there are 7 people reported dead, and 20 wounded.

There are also reports of two different crime scenes: the SPC and Howve Theater on Battalion Ave.

One person is in custody.

Police surrounded the 42006 building, said to be used for traumatic brain injuries, on Fort Hood and fired shots at a male suspect in an Army uniform with a Major rank. The suspect was injured, but has now run in to another building.

Reports say the shooter had a high-powered rifle and was aiming to kill.

Killeen ISD says all Fort Hood schools are on lockdown.

Temple ISD is on a "soft" lockdown. Parents will be able to pick their children up at the normal times, though they may experience delays.

I'm so glad your safe WC. I pray for everyone at Fort Hood.

Thank the Lord above you weren't there when this tragedy took place. My husband and I were watching our soap whent he news broke and were so shocked and upset over this. Such senseless acts never cease to amaze and disgust me. I pray it is none of your friends too WC. I pray the families of the victims can somehow cope with this.

I am SO very upset and shocked right now. What's the slap in the face is that it was Soldiers killing their own.

My son brought home a friend from school today because her Mom was not home yet. Turns out she was on base with thousands of others who are on lockdown. We have no idea when they are going to open up the base again.

Just found out its his friends Birthday today as well. Her mom was supposed to cook her favorite dinner. Before I knew about that, I had just picked up Whataburger for them. I feel bad for her.

This is such a sad tragic story...thank god WC you are ok. I know you are so saddened by your fellow soldiers. You are def in my prayers along with the many families.

I'm glad your safe WC so sorry for the family's who lost there love ones .

Hugs everyone. Apparently the shooter was a Dr at the Military Hospital. I did not know him, but used to see him in passing in the hallways. He was treating Soldiers with PTSD and was about to be deployed. I can not help but wonder if after hearing of all the horrors of war from his Soldiers/patients, he just freaked out. War is evil and the fallout from it brutal.

WC, my deepest condolences for the tragic things that happened. Yes, WAR is horrible and no man or woman should have to experience that. The human mind is just not made to see such things, that's why special forces are literally numbed, in body and mind, to do what they do. Again, I'm sorry for this.

Glad to hear you are safe WC, my nephew is also at fort hood and thank God he too is safe but a friend of his was one of the victims. Praying for the families of all the ones who lost their lives.

Thank you LJ for your kind words. He was supposed to come home Friday but they suspended his leave for a few days. He is suppose to be on his way home tonight before he gets deployed again! Can't wait to see him I know this has been a terrible time for all who are at fort hood and the families. Hugs and prayers to all. Big Hug to you WC!
