This is a cool article/interview from last year that I found online, and I thanked Paul for saying nice things about Lisa and not over-sensationalize things to get a juicy article and this is what he said:
"I didn't feel the need to bash her and
thought why not tell people about her music, they can get the dirt about
her on any tabloid TV show."
Big Grin
***********************************

Pizza and Mexican are her favourite foods. Love Actually is her number one
flick. On TV, she’ll usually be stationed at Nick at Night because she
likes all the old shows. While changing channels she’ll probably hear her
name mentioned on tabloid television. She won’t flip out; she’ll just keep
on flipping.

Lisa Marie Presley hasn’t just stepped out of the shadows of her rock 'n'
roll king father and the scandals of her pop king ex-husband. She’s jumped
and landed in a sphere she comfortably enjoys.

During Lisa Marie’s media circuit from Oprah to Letterman, with concerts
lined up from Memphis to Casino Rama, she graciously took time to speak
with Preston Catalogue.

No stranger to the world of fashion, Lisa Marie has done modeling
campaigns for Versace, Gap, Cartier and Vogue magazine. “Fashion is not
something I’m all wrapped up in. I am very comfortable on stage as I am on
the cover of my record where I have chords and Converse on. I think even
that has its own type of fashion where it’s an F.U.-type thing. I'm a
little bit anti-the-sex, the sexy, and crazy on stage s.hit because it
distracts from what I'm doing. I am a little bit non-conformist about the
whole thing.”

Lisa Marie feels that society puts too much emphasis on beauty, within her
industry. “I think if you look good, you’re great, and everyone loves you.
If you look like s.hit, then no one wants to talk to you anymore. I think
that’s ridiculous and kind of what’s going on in the world right now.”

Curiosity may have killed the cat but it did help boost sales of Lisa
Marie’s first album, To Whom It May Concern. It was one of 2003’s highest
debuts with 140,000 copies sold in its first week of release. Her
sophomore album Now What debuted on the Billboard Top ten in the ninth
position in mid-April 2005. Now What is evident of her growth as an
artist.

Lisa Marie has a rock attitude voice with a sexy, sultry and seductive
tone that helps to tightly grab heartstrings. She is far from the
manufactured syrup often delivered in today’s pop-rock scene.

The album kicks off with the high flying I’ll Figure It Out. With its
inspiring and sentimental chorus, the self-reflective song has strong
attitude.

Now What is brighter and more optimistic than To Whom It May Concern. We
do however see Lisa Marie’s darker side return in the haunting High Enough
and the moving Turn to Black. There is a bit of desperation in them;
almost like a plea for help.

Many collaborative efforts fill up the 11-track album. The single Dirty
Laundry was originally created by Don Henley for his 1982 album, I Can’t
Stand Still. Used for Desperate Housewives promotions, Dirty Laundry
conveys the message that the media can sensationalize people. “Kick them
when they’re up and kick them when they’re down.” It's fun but doesn’t
steal the show.

Five songs were co-written by Linda Perry, who had written and produced
major hits for Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani and Pink after her days as
the Four Non-Blondes frontwoman. Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones was
featured in the entertaining and catchy Idiot. It has all the right
ingredients and instructions for a rebellious rock song.

Jones also stood in for Johnny Ramone on Ramone’s song Here Today, as
Ramone sadly passed away before he got the chance to record with close
friend Lisa Marie for the album.

Another duet is with rocker Pink on the album’s strongest track Shine.
This beautifully arranged ballad pulls at the heartstrings that audiences
will surely love even more in a live concert environment.

Shine is Lisa Marie’s most-cherished Now What number. “It pretty much
tells everything. I think so many of them come to the same conclusion of
me sort of realizing that I don’t like to be part of any particular thing,
herd of people or group ideas, or what I should be or what’s expected of
me. I have always been walking my own path whether that’s liked or not.
It’s hard to explain but it’s about me trying to come to terms with that
idea. I’ll Figure It Out and Turn To Black and a few others address the
same subject in different ways; Shine really breaks it down even more.”

It means a lot to Lisa Marie that her music has helped other people’s
lives. “I consider the duty of any songwriter or artist in any field is to
take whatever is going on in your life and make it concise and graspable
enough for other people then to listen to it and go ‘yeah I have
experienced that, yeah I know what that is’. That’s what music has done
for me all my life,”
says Lisa Marie.

“I got letters from people (saying), it helped me not commit suicide, got
me through an illness or death or whatever. That was what I was looking to
do the whole time. All the press and hoopla, you just get kind of lost in
all that. In the end, you meet the people that it’s reached and you go,
okay, this is what it’s all about.”

Lisa Marie wrote Raven for her mother Priscilla. “We finally came to a
relationship where we talk everyday and I tell her what’s going on. That
took a long time but she means everything to me now.”

In Raven, she is telling her mother that it’s time to put the past behind
them and move forward together. The chorus reads, “Go on dry your eyes;
You know that I've forgiven you and I'm sorry; And everything till now; It
wasn't that bad really; Beautiful lady.”

The album ends with its title track. The striking and smoky Now What is a
self-reflective song for both the singer and listeners.

Lisa Marie’s proclaims daughter Riley and son Benjamin as the two most
important people in her life. The children’s father is Lisa Marie’s first
husband, musician Danny Keough, whom she married in 1988.

“What I learn from them is that all children start with a clean slate.
Whatever happens with them is directly your responsibility. You have to
know that because if they are acting or being a certain way, it’s because
of what they are being exposed to or what they’re being around. It’s
really interesting to see, in a non-disruptive upbringing what a kid will
do without their parents wanting to kill each other and drug addictions,
and all this kind of stuff. They can actually turn out okay.”

An advocate of social issues, Lisa Marie fights strongly for children’s
education and protection. In 2002, she spoke to the United States Congress
against medicating mentally-challenged children. Other organizations she
supports include Presley Place, a housing development for previously
homeless families, and LEAP. Literacy, Education and Ability Program was
born in 1997 and primarily serves children in Memphis, Tennessee.

“Education is very important. I think that the reason that drugs come into
play is because of the lack of education. The way education is; it’s like
kids are not interested in what the school system makes them study. They
are forced to study things, and they don’t necessarily understand what
they’re studying. Then they get bored, their attention span goes off, they
want to do other stuff that’s not productive; all these things kind of go
together hand in hand.”

Her children and helping people, she says, are the two interests that
inspire her to wake up each morning. “I am not someone who is all absorbed
in myself and I have to look good, and have attention on me or whatever.
When I’m doing something productive with my life and making a good change
and contributing to mankind, then I’m good.”

Presley is the daughter of arguably the most influential musician of the
twentieth century. Coming into the world with such a famous name meant
great expectations that would be extremely difficult for anyone to handle.
While it’s taken time, mistakes, victories and various forms of
expression, today she is feeling very comfortable and showcasing her truly
original self.

Lisa Marie Presley is hard-working, committed to causes that are important
to her, mature and in control. She’s writing her own history and
contributing to her craft. Her albums are a testament to her desire to be
defined by none other than her own music, for which she is receiving the
respect she deserves. And that’s all she’s asking for.

Great interview, only read the bold but.... Man, she is sooooo COOL and DOWN to EARTH!!!!

She is just a great role model, how she overcame things, and staying true to herself, and not caring what others think of it, and finally having a great relationship with her mother, she is in a very good place in her life right now!!!
