Messner, who had battled colon cancer since 1996 that more recently spread to her lungs, died peacefully at her home Friday, said her booking agent, Joe Spotts, in an e-mail. A family service was held Saturday in a private cemetery, where her ashes were interred, he said.

i saw her too, i agree she was very brave to do that interview. RIP

GOD, I really felt for her, I can't believe she was able to do an interview being that ill, days from passing, so sad.

I heard about it yesterday for the first time. She was such a strong person even after the whole PTL scandel. She remained strong and stead fast in her beliefs and always seem to be cheeful throughout her battle. RIP Tammy

This is really sad She was a beautiful person inside and out...She is reigning with the big guy now and thats all that matters...She is praying for all the lil forkers that made fun of her in the day...God Bless you Tammy...I know ur resting in peace.

She was a strong woman who never doubted in her faith.
I never knew much about her until i saw her on the Surreal life and then i was glad i watched as i learned about the type of person she was and more about who i should be.
She was very brave to do her last interview and tho she will be missed i am glad her battle is over and she can rest in with the Lord in his kingdom.
