Chris voted off 'Idol'

Chris Daughtry got caught in a trap, but he did get to walk out. The rocker from North Carolina was voted off from "American Idol" last night following his performances of "Suspicious Minds" and "A Little Less Conversation" on Tuesday's Elvis-themed show.

Unlike Kellie Pickler and Paris Bennett, the two previous "Idol" castoffs, Daughtry seemed genuinely surprised by his elimination. Katharine McPhee, whose renditions of "Hound Dog/All Shook Up" and "Can't Help Falling in Love" Tuesday weren't met with a hunk of burning love from the judges, joined him in the Bottom Two. A few minutes before the announcement, Simon Cowell said he thought McPhee should have been the one to go home.

The rest of the results show consisted of the three finalists touring Graceland with Priscilla Presley (yawn), followed by the quartet's Elvis medley. Taylor Hicks, aka Gray Charles, also got to do an encore of "Jailhouse Rock" at the request of actress Rebecca Romijn, who was in the audience with her fiance Jerry O'Connell. No doubt, Cowell, who called Hicks' performance "silly" on Tuesday's show, was delighted.

The show is rigged...... I always knew it was and now I know it is for sure.

terrible...he was the only one who pulled off the elvis songs....the one guy messed up in the ghetto sooo bad...when will they leard that you don't have to hold every single note to prove you can sing?

I thought Chris did a great job singing the Elvis Presley that he chose.

I liked Chris alot.I think he is very talented and I loved how he sang Elvis's songs..In my opinion, he is awesome..and I am upset that he is no longer on american idol.

Chris has been my favourite throughout... ive not seen this weeks show yet coz its not aired here til 2morro night .. but it's such a shame he was the one to go
