"Too Tough To Die" is the name of a new film playing at the TriBeCa Film Festival. It's subject is a 30th anniversary concert for the iconic punk band The Ramones.

The concert featured dozens of top musicians who took the stage to crank out many of The Ramones hits.

Two days after the show, Ramones guitarist and founding member Johnny Ramone, who was too sick to attend the concert, succumbed to prostate cancer

The film was made by Mandy Stein.

"Making the film, I thought that this was going to be an anniversary for The Ramones – a film about The Ramones. But Johnny dying two and a half days later really turned it into a tribute about him," says Stein.

"Too Tough To Die" combines concert footage with **** tributes from many of Johnny's friends from Deborah Harry of Blondie to Lisa Marie Presley to Nicolas Cage.

Stein herself, also has a strong connection with The Ramones.

"Making this film was definitely a family affair," she says. "My Dad signed The Ramones to his label, Sire Records. And my Mom actually saw The Ramones before my Dad and ended up managing them for the first five years, so it was definitely in my blood."

These days Stein is busy making a film about the famed club in the East Village where the Ramones got their start.

"I've been shooting a documentary for the past five months about CBGB, and I've lost funding twice. It's such an important story to me, obviously, because I grew up going there. The Ramones was the first show that I had ever seen there when I was three," she says. "I have seen that area change; the gentrification of the Bowery is wild."

If you want to go and see "Too Tough To Die," it's playing at Tribeca.

Thanks now i was able to watch it. Can't wait for the whole thing to be released so hopefully it will have more of Lisa in it! Wonder if she will perform on it as well seeing as she did do a cover of there song.
