Then there are those celebrity interviews that reduced Oprah to a nervous wreck; the ones that gave her an out-of-body experience and the one after which she bawled in the dressing room backstage. In total, these number about five and they include Nelson Mandela, "I think in the world of living heroes he is the number one for me."

In 1993, Oprah interviewed childhood hero Diana Ross and recalls, "The night before my first interview with Diana Ross, I sat in the bath and cried myself out so I could be a normal person on the show."
There was the Sidney Poitier interview in 2000 after which Oprah broke down in the control room, "I thought I wasn't good enough.

All these years, I wanted this interview and I hadn't measured up." Oprah changed clothes three times before the Paul McCartney interview; and believes that in all her years of interviewing, the hour she spent with Lisa Marie Presley is the most interesting she has ever had.
Although she has hosted many of the world's greats, Oprah's real achievement lies in the diversity of the people who have sat on her couch at Harpo, which is Oprah spelt backward. Many of Oprah's guests were ordinary people to whom extraordinary things had happened and some of their stories left a mark on Oprah as well as members of her audience.

Oprah says that on the Dvd Set she put out...it is a wonderful piece of her talking about Lisa....truly is.

Thanks for posting that. I also believe that Oprah said that Lisa was the only person she had personally invited to be on her show.

Oprah seems to love Lisa! And who could blame her? Lisa is just straight out! Also, I remember Oprah saying this about Lisa: "She says things like it is. And I like that." Or something like that on her show when she celebrated her 20th Anniversary. Oprah is one sweet lady.

Lisa was also the only guest on the show to go the entire two shows with no commercial breaks.

That was definitely a great interview, no pre-conceived agendas towards Lisa, it was very humbling and direct. I loved it!
