I read this earlier. There is a picture somewhere on aol showing Britney catching her 2 and half year old son Sean Preston grabbing her cigarettes and lighter from the table, and in that particular picture she's TAKING them away from the kid because a 2 and a half year old kid shouldn't be playing with mommy's cigarettes or lighters. However a tabloid has posted on the cover a picture of her smoking in front of him, and not seeing he's trying to get the lighter and cigarettes just yet, they don't put on the cover the picture of her noticing he's curious and taking them away. Now it's oh what a terrible mother she is again. And this article states this is NOT the worst episode and kids get into things they shouldn't and mommy takes things away from them. On aol there was a poll to smokers. It said smokers come clean have your children ever gotten a hold of your cigarettes. The majority votes went to yes. I am not saying it's a good thing to smoke in front of your children or leave your ligheter or pack out, but my mom has smoked in front of me and my sisters when we were younger and has left her lighter and pack on the coffee table and we've actually gotten a hold of them too and she's taken them away from us. So who thinks this is as bad as everyone makes it out to be?

From what I can see the kid doesn't even look like he's taking them. He doesn't even have them in his hand yet. Whatever, they're always trying to bring celebs down. If he was trying to take them I don't think it's that big of a deal because as you said, she saw later. Obviously parents should do their best to keep them out of reach of their kids, but I see no harm done here.

*rolling eyes* tabloids, shame on them for always creating drama and misconstruing the facts.

She should quit smoking. Those kids could wind up with asthma twenty years later just from being around it if they don't pick up her bad habits to begin with.

This is true, but while she does smoke I don't see it any worse than other parents who smoke. My point was they were making it worse than it was ;p as I know you know what I meant ;p. My mom and dad quit smoking for 10 years long after we were little lol but they started again after they got a divorce. I sort of can't say much on that topic because my mom and dad. I've gotten to the point sadly where I give up on asking them to quit.

I just didnt mention the tabloids cause I dont give them any credence anyhow, just thought I'd mention what I thought was truly important. No disrespect to your thread, Ms.Jac. I hope your folks quit anyways.

First of all these were taken from a helicopter when she was on her balcony at home so really we have no right to comment either way as it is her buisness when she is in the ''privacy'' of her own home. I will say this though; she is smoking outside on her balcony so I don't see the big deal as this is the right thing to do if you're a smoker and have children. Secondly, she appeared to take them out of his hands straight away. To me that is the right thing to do as a parent. For the record my parents have always smoked and my sister & I don't smoke at all. This is the case with most of my friends too so I don't think we always pick up our parents bad habits.

If they get taken away all the time due to her 'incompetancy', I'd think they'd accidentally be picking up carrot sticks lying around not lighters. I know all about not picking up bad habits, for sure. Let's hope they have the nuts not to, and the luck in avoiding enough second hand damage, balconies aside.
