Proud mother Lisa Marie Presley has introduced her beautiful twin baby girls to the world on their very first birthday.

Blue-eyed belles Finley and Harper celebrated not in the sunny climes of LA, but instead in chilly Britain, where their mother hopes to make a permanent home.

And instead of throwing a lavish, star-studded party for her girls, the only daughter of the king of rock opted to have a small, intimate do, attended by family.

She told Hello! magazine: ‘They both have such a sweetness about them that it breaks our heart.
'We want desperately to preserve their purity, love and trust for as long as we can before people and life cause the inevitable souring and contamination.

‘It is incredible that we all start out so pure, so genuine, happy and trusting.’

The babies were born at Las Robles Hospital and Medical Centre in Thousand Oaks, California.

The 41-year-old also spoke candidly about her grief following the death of her former husband Michael Jackson, who she married in 1994.

And she credited musician husband Michael Lockwood, who is the twins' father, with allowing her to grieve and helping her recover from the shock.

The mother-of-four said: ‘He has cried with me, he has left me alone to cry if that’s what I needed. I have never met a more selfless and supportive person.’

Of her decision to leave LA for the colder climate of Britain, she explained: ‘We have found the quality of life so much more enriching and fulfilling. The civility, the culture, the people and its beauty have reawakened me and have smoothed out some of my bleak and jagged views about people and life.’

Lisa, who is also mother to model Riley, 20, and Ben, who turns 17 next week, is also currently recording a new album and is collaborating with Pulp guitarist Richard Hawley.

She has enjoyed pop success like her famous father, releasing two albums since 2003 – with both selling more than a million copies each.

Lisa was just nine-years-old when her father Elvis died in 1977.

Wow they are sooooooo beautiful. Finley looks almost identical to Lisa & Riley as a baby and Harper seems to look more like Lockwood. I am happy Lisa let us see a new pic!

Harper & Finley are So Cute & Sweet!!! I'm glad to hear about the new CD. I do wish she would not leave the U.S. , but as long as she is happy!! I hope LMP will vist us alot though. I Love her so much!!

What a BEAUTIFUL Family!!!! WOW!! Thanx for sharing! The article was amazing Lisa sounds SO HAPPY - GREAT for her! I can't wait to hear the new music hopefully she will release something soon. I wish her all the BEST losing a loved one is extremly hard, I'm not sure anyone truly gets over it I think its just finding a way to manage it daily. My heart goes out to her.
