A cple of days ago an older athlete was killed but what may have been a great white shark!!!!
Lisa Marie has performed at the belly up in solana beach a cple times..... a few of you have walked that beach...... don't go into those waters!!! I still have to read more about the attack. Solana Beach is beautiful!!!!! a unique lil town. Yeah thats really sad
 The ocean is a scary dang place man..Ya def gotta respect it...And it sounds like he did...Just really unfortunate I cant believe peeps were back in the water the next day  But I heard you guys already have triple digit temperatures going on...Sounds wicked for the folks inland. Be safe people! |

Yes, he died from his injuries.
I love that beach, hubby and I drive down there time to time, won't be doing that for awhile. I always thought that the Great Whites hung off the coast of Frisco, reason I never ever wanted to go in the water when we'd visit relatives up there. No doubt!
I guess pregnant sharks head for warmer waters when they are ready to deliver...At least thats one theory. I love the ocean but it scares the **** outta me some times...That poor lady last month from the Keys...She was killed by a sting ray and she was on her boat!!!!! Freaking thing jumped outta the water. K, no swimming at dusk or dawn...No shiney bathing suits or jewelry...Try not to look like a seal..aka wet suits and boards...Do not swim at the mouth of any river that leads into the ocean..Its a big feeding den...And I wouldnt swim where peeps are fishing just in case...And if your a tourist and snorkling...find out if any local idiots are offering shark feeding expeditions..You dont wanna dive too close to the feeding sharks or the idiots feeding them. K, over and out...Have a safe summer everyone :P |

i heard about the sting ray that was very tragic.
I looooooooooooooove the ocean, but i wont go in. Salt water is sticky. I dont even like the sand either. I love sharks and one day i wanna raise money to save the great whites. And YES......omg its been hot here, it prolly is the warmer waters that we have now not sure what they are atracted (sp) to. i heard about this too. apparently a seal had washed up earlier that morning and the shark was possibly stalkin it and when that guy was in the water the shark thot it was that seal (cuz of his black wetsuit). idk tho.. either way, its sad.

we have a seal beach here. thank goodness that is not attracing the shark(s)

It won't stop me going to the beaches, Solano or otherwise (except for the Frisco shoreline) it will just make me more aware of what to look for, etc... .

Yeah I read about the stingray as well, though they said it wasn't so much the sting but the aftermath (impact to her head) that killed her.

Global warming, depletion of our ocean's by fishermen who don't care, govt's. and individuals who refuse to believe this is happening and look the other way...lots of things to blame, sadly.

that freaks me out. ..
i ski'd thru the everglades one time lol and i was holdin on for dear life for like 45 minutes the Fkrs that were drivin the boat were Fng w/ me of coarse. ...i will NEVER ski in the ocean or a dam river again....im thinkin lakes too lol.... and listen i grew up ski'n .../im SCARED OF SHARKS N SHT! what about jelly fish are clear !!! and if you step on one ...you go straight to the hospital.
