How does one go and remake one of the scariest horror movies in history? How do you bring a fresh approach to an otherwise dying series? Why, bring Rob Zombie in of course.

I've been a HUGE fan of the Halloween series ever since I was like five years old! I've seen three sequels come and go (Halloween 6, H20, and Resurrection) and have really enjoyed every one except Halloween Resurrection, which left me cold.

Anyways, it was announced officially today that singer/writer/director/producer, Rob Zombie would be taking on a new Halloween film, which WILL NOT BE A SEQUEL. It's more of a remake I guess.

After seeing Devil's Rejects, I know that he is a great director and will get the job done to the best of his ability.

Here's the link for the full story for anyone who cares... I figured you might enjoy this Puppy, but then again you probably already know.

No problem... Yes, I guess it is exciting news. The Halloween Series as we all know it is just about dead. The last movie was nothing more than an attempt to make some quick cash. It really pisses me off because the first movie was anything but that, and has went on to be the most sucessful independant film of all time.

Thanks for posting, I did already know about it and was very excited about hearing he was doing another movie...I'd prefer another Rejects...but this will do.

And don't forget he's doing a cartoon too, called El Superbeasto which looks to be quite interesting.

He said that the look and feel was going to be totally different from the other Halloween Movies, which worries me a little. I hope it doesn't change too much, because I can't see a New Halloween film shot the same way Rejects was. Don't get me wrong here, it worked awesome for Rejects. I think Rob knows this too, so I guess I should trust his judgement. The Devil's Rejects was really nothing short of brilliant...

As far as a Rejects sequel goes, I really didn't expect one. The only way they could pull it off would be by doing a prequel or something like that. That might be cool... I was kinda hoping to see him do a totally original horror film.

really? Resurrection was one of my favorites, it was Halloween 3 and 6 that really didn't make any sense to me.
