Sometimes she reminds me of a mini Lisa Marie. But only sometimes. She does rock. I wasn't huge on her latest album. It wasn't as deep as the others, but it grew on me. Also I started to like the song girlfriend because I heard a rumor it was about Paris Hilton. Paris dated Avril's Husband before Avril and him started dating. Sum 41 actually introduced her as the number 1 single winner or something like that, and then Derek (her husband whose the lead singer) introduced her as Now to perform the song Girlfriend here's Mrs. Whibley. It was so adorable. I loved he introduced her as Mrs. Whibley.

I haven't got the latest CD yet but I am sure I will. The video on the Girlfriend song cracked me up. Wonder if what you said was true, that is wild, lol. I got her other CDs and love em.

I used to be a huge Avril fan but after I saw her latest video, "Hot", it kinda turned me off of her. I realize that people change but she used to be so dead-set against using sexuality to sell records but she's half-naked in that video. But ah well.

She's a 22 year old married woman. She grew up. It won't turn me off at all. Oh and Lisa is against a lot of stuff Avril is too, but has actually shown her belly before. You going to be turned off from that as well. I think it's okay to be sexy sometimes. Avril doesn't HAVE to use it like Britney. Avril doesn't do it ALL the time and that is the difference. Also I am watching the video now on Youtube and I see sexy clothes BUT not half naked. I don't see any skin but her legs and shoulders. Confused.

Have you heard her last album? She has definitely not grown up. She's grown dooowwwnnn. lol. Her songwriting used to be OK but on the last album it's just ridiculous. Childish lyrics. Childish music. I think she just needs to quit trying to be something she's not. She's not hardcore. Her first 2 albums were awesome but this last one is a big step away from the old stuff and I do realize that artists change throughout their careers, but Avril's music has changed for the worst, not the better. I mean, come on, look at some of these lyrics.

I never said I liked her latest album. I was referring to her as a person. Not her music. I didn't say her music grew but you said she was half naked and you lost respect for her. Guess what I didn't see a half naked person in that video. I meant she is a grown woman. Grown person. Not musically. She can be sexy sometimes. I don't think she's trying to be something she's not. I think she just wanted to put out a fun album for a change. It's ok to be fun from time to time. I don't think these lyrics were meant to be deep and serious. They aren't meant to be taken seriously. Maybe if she puts out a deeper album next time people will stop saying she's being someone she's not? wow. how fantastic of everyone. It's nice to know people who never met her know who she is and such.I like some of her "fun" songs by the way too.

I guess I would like her new stuff more if it was actually believable - I just don't feel like she's the hardcore chick she's portraying in songs like "I don't have to try". I like some of her new stuff to, I love "Hot" and "When You're Gone". But anyway, I just detest the "Hot" video. I just think it would've been better if she had been herself all along. 'Cause there's no denying that even though her first 2 albums were good, she was trying to be something she obviously wasn't - A hardcore skater chick. But ah well, I respect your opinion. Sorry for any bad blood I may have caused.

no no. NO bad blood. It wasn't really towards YOU. It just sparked something in me. I respect yours too. I just get tired of people saying she "sold out" and isn't herself because her album is less deep than the others. She's never gone Britney on anyone at least. I get your point, but at the same time she herself said it wasn't meant to be a serious record. It was a fun album.
