Awe, I wish you'd known. Apparently her decision to perform was made 4 hrs. prior to her taking the stage. I wish she'd let everyone know so that the fans that were nearby could have gone and seen her. xoxoxo |

Thanks so much for posting this Yellow2Blue! Haven't checked in for at least a week & what a pleasant surprise to read this. This brings back wonderful memories of the very first time I heard Lisa's bluesy singing voice......there were so many articles about her sounding like Aretha Franklin, et al, bluesy......but that was way back when she was only in her early 20's. I didn't actually hear this recording until VH1 did a biography special on Lisa, that's when I finally heard this very first recording she did, and I was honestly blown away, truth! Later on today when I have the time I'm going to find that tape & listen once again to that haunting bluesy voice. I've always wished deep in my heart that she would record an album full of soul/blues/gospel-like music. Not that I haven't enjoyed both her CDs, I have!, but I can't get that bluesy voice out of my mind, her voice is a natural when it comes to the blues. JMHO.
