I love Kiss and especially Gene and Paul. I watch Family jewels and I get a good laugh at times from his ways. I read on his website, his answers to fan letters. This one in particular, cracked me up and makes me wanna just hug him. He tells this woman to go fuk herself LOL

I find Gene Simmons to be really arrogant and conceited. Even if it's all an act(which I'm pretty sure it's not) it's a bad image to portray. I love how he talks about power...how does he know how much power one has as compared to another..you know you're egotistical when... that's my opinion anyway. And no I didn't write that letter to him
 lol.

Yeah no, he is totally an amazing businessman, but in my opinion, at times, his confidence borders on egotistical. |

He was pretty self-effacing in his books at times, like when he went shopping with Cher and thought people were recognizing him without his make-up because they were staring, Cher had to tell him that his family jewels were hanging out of his shorts,lol. KISS condoms were a little over the top, but all in the name of prettied safety! Genius can be sorely misunderstood,lol.

Oh, I don't know. I haven't read the book; I've just seen the show a few times. I just meant in a general way, pertaining to his persona of "I'm the greatest" etc., etc. I think unless you're a fan of his music, which I'm not, you either enjoy the bravado and get a kick of it or you get sick of it. Or you don't really care about GS either way, like me, but I'm sympathetic to both points of view i.e. mildly amusing and mildly eye-rolling.

I have a cute little story concerning Gene and my nephew.. I guess my nephew was supposed to write a little paper on who his Hero was and of course he picks Gene (although he aspires to be a drummer some day)... Well, the teacher didnt approve of it and told him he had to pick someone else. He went home and told my brother his plight that he didnt want anyone else, and so they told the teacher that she shouldnt judge him and should reconsider. They told her that Gene is not just a Rock Star who parties it up all the time, but he gives to charity, is a very smart businessman, doesn't drink or smoke and not only that but he was a teacher once! Well, of course then she had to give in. So they wrote an email to Gene Simmons and told him what happened, of this small-town kid who looked up to him and they got a letter back from him stating how proud he was that he stood his ground, and that he hopes all his dreams come true. Never seen such a big smile on my nephews face!
