NEW YORK (Dec. 17) - Dan Fogelberg, the singer and songwriter whose hits "Leader of the Band" and "Same Old Lang Syne" helped define the soft-rock era, died Sunday at his home in Maine after battling prostate cancer. He was 56.

Dan should not be classified as soft rock. Some of his major hits do not reflect the depth of a vast majority of his work. The music world has lost a major force.
Dan could have you in tears, singing a song that you know he wrote just for you, then pick up an electric guitar and smoke it. I really feel like I have lost part of myself. His music was a big part of me. |

I know Quinn. I listened to him Today for almost an hour and cried. He has ALWAYS been one of my favorites. So sad. He was amazing

he was supposed to be here in the next month. ...omgosh. i never got the chance to see him play LIVE ..but ive heard many times he put on a HELL OF A SHOW FOR MANY HOURS AT A TIME. ... I was shocked and saddened by the news of Dan Fogelberg! He is my all time favorite male vocalist next to Elvis! I love The Innocent Age album!This affected my life so much in the 80's!I even got to see him in concert once! He will always be part of my life. I am deeply grateful for his music!
