PINK'S spokeswoman has lashed out at Internet reports that the Doylestown native has planned an elaborate funeral for her beloved bulldog, Elvis.

Elvis was given to Pink by Lisa Marie Presley, and Pink, born Alecia Moore, named him after her friend's late, legendary father.

The dog drowned recently in the swimming pool of Pink's Los Angeles home, Star magazine reported. Although the canine "was a member of the family," as Pink's publicist Michele Schweitzer told Star, the singer is not building a mini-Graceland to serve as a crypt for the dog, nor has she booked a 70-piece orchestra to play Elvis songs at his funeral.

Schweitzer told us Friday that those reports are "both 100 percent false and 100 percent horrifying."

The publicist had told Star that Elvis had been in Pink's pool many times before and that the death came as a shock to the singer.

The reports, on a number of celebrity news blogs, said that the four-legged Elvis would be transported to his final resting place by four canine pallbearers and that Pink, who attended Central Bucks West High, had planned to erect a huge marble statue of her deceased pet in her garden.

Thanks for posting, Suz. I had kind of thought myself it sounded like it was in bad taste. I mean, naming your dog after your friend's dad is one thing, but going to those extremes for a dog's funeral, I thought it wasn't that respectful to Lisa. Didn't say anything, cuz it was jmo and death can do weird things to peeps ... and now it's a lie anyway!! Yeesh, what WON'T tabs lie about? It's like they think a dog dying and being friends with Lisa is just a big joke.

The thing is the area I got it from was "legit" which when I read this, even though sounded quirky to begin with, I thought was true...and yes animals are like fam. but not to this extreme, but again we all grieve in different ways, so I to didn't want to comment too much on it.

I agree with you both....I love my pets so much, but I think that fake funeral sounded tacky...come on, a SEVENTY PIECE ORCHESTRA?!?!?! Think of how expensive that would be...like, people don't even get those at weddings. Where would they all fit?!?!

I am very sorry for Pink's loss though.

I do to, it's so hard to lose a beloved pet.

i thought that sounded like a bunch of **** when i heard about it!And to say that LMP was in on the planning!(that's what i heard)i did not think Pink would ask something like that of her friend nor did i think Lisa would consider it for one minute! My prayers are with Pink & her husband though!

I'm glad the story about her building a "mini" Graceland to bury her dog in are false... that is pretty silly and would be in bad taste. I'm sorry her doggie died though.
