IMHO, if Lisa and Priscilla didn't think it was a good idea or any such thing, then they would've never done it. I think it's kinda cool myself. It puts Elvis's music right smack dab in prime time..who could ask for a better slot or exposure? And imho it does honor Elvis and his music. It shows how much they think of the man still to this day. Keeping his music and life alive. I also think American Idol is a good thing for people to see what they have, if they've got what it takes, etc. I don't know, just my opinion. Hope I didn't offend anyone.

Is it me or what, cuz I kringe when peep try to sing Elvis' songs. You just never know what to expect!!!

To quote a famous person..."before Elvis there was nothing"...IMO, AI just proved tonight that the even the AI finalist can't "walk a mile" in Elvis' shoes! They don't call him the King for nuthin...I liked the show none the less. Elliot was my pick of the nite, but I don't think he's gonna win.

chokechick..nobody can sing Elvis's songs like Elvis can, thats for sure. Sometimes it's kinda fun to see people make fools or fun of themselves. Kinda like Jessica Simpson doing 'Take My Breath Away'. Only Berlin can do that song. Or Sinead O'Connor with 'Nothing Compares 2 U' I don't think anyone can touch those songs..but I'm all for seein peeps try.
Kelly Clarkson is one of my favorite singers and she's an Idol alumni now.

I agree Chokechick, tonights show reminded me what an amazing singer Elvis was!

All said and done the show was tasteful.
The contestants were very very respectful and appreciative. There was no need to doubt and no need for this thread.
