Yesterday I went to see yet another remake that Hollywood has to offer, The Omen. Now I've never seen the original film so I can't compare the two.
I thought that this movie was horrible! It didn't come close to scary, creepy, or chilling. The kills were graphic and presented well, but they are just too few and far between to save this piece of ****. The acting its self was really bad too. The two main characters (Liev Schreiber, Julia Stiles) did ok enough a part, but the two didn't have any chemistry between them on screen. The scenes that were meant to show love and affection just came off boring and cold... Nothing there. The young boy who plays Damien didn't really act at all, so it's difficult for me to comment on his acting. He had mabe three sentences the whole movie, and the rest of the time he just walked around looking pissed off. Yet again not creppy at all, and even made me laugh out loud a few times. The only actor in this film to get the character right was Mia Farrow, who plays the Nanny... She did a very good job. The ending left it wide open, and seeing as how the film took in the highest amount EVER for a film opening on a tuesday, it's safe to say that a sequel will be on its way... The Omen 2, God help us all. |

Yeah, I have to agree. I saw it on Tuesday, and the theater was crowded...but what ticked me off was the fact that nobody seemed really really scared. Myself included. I didn't find it scary at all quite honestly. Maybe a teensy bit creepy, but I was expecting to come home and be afraid of the dark that night....hahahaha. Oh well.....the kid was too laughable....and yes the parent's relationship did NOT have ANY chemistry! Let's see if they try to remake the sequel....
