Like almost everyone in America, maybe the world...I don't know...we had a family reunion on Easter Sunday...and one of the topics that came up was professional wrestling. Yes, WWE. My uncle is a big fan of the WWE...always have...ever since I can remember. Naturally, I grew up watching WWF (that's what it was called back then.)
Anyway...my uncle works at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA...formerly known as the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim. He has met a lot of wrestlers...and he enjoys working there. ANYWAY...my uncle started talking about how a lot of parents were and still are trying to run the WWE out of business. Or at least, try to put a stop to the violence. That their kids are in danger...that a lot of kids have suffered injuries due to the wrestling moves they copy off of the WWE superstars. There's a special moment in the WWE...(I don't know if anyone has ever watched wrestling, but there's a wrestler that goes by the name of the Undertaker...) the Undertaker was featured in 1999 to be this "demon", "satanic" looking man. With a cross...where he "sacrifices" and attempts to "marry" Stephanie McMahon in an "unholy wedding". A lot of parents were pissed off back then...especially at the Undertaker's character. Here's a video of what I'm talking about: Undertaker Unholy Wedding Not to be ****ed up or anything...and without defending the WWE...(I haven't watched wrestling in years now...) I think parents should knock it off! If they're that concerned about their kids trying these wrestling moves at home...maybe they should sit them down and talk to them about it. Maybe sit down and watch TV with them. Be parents...be responsible...if you're kids are watching wrestling...and you're against it them watching it...DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! What do you guys think? |

I think wrestling, like any sport has been around for yearsssssssss... My son use to LOVE to watch The Rock ( hubbahubba) and he would pretend to do his moves.. he was 3!! BUT it was cute and he is 7 now and knows that its not appropriate to pick someone up by the throat and bodyslam them to the ground. He watches movies and when the "bad guy" gets his a** kicked he likes it, as do the rest of us. My son is fully aware of the right kinda behavior and the wrong kind. Parents have become soooooooooo uptight about things like this. You cant just shove a kid out and say ok CRUEL world dont f *c k him up too bad. Its time for parents to start being PARENTS... and stop depending on the rest of the world to raise their kid. If you dont like it, dont let your kid watch it.. and/or talk to them about NOT performing such brutal acts on their friends on the playground.. "thats not nice JOHNNY!!!"Oh look he is bleeding now... !!!!! TOO LATE
BIT CHES!!!!! ( i am feeling very opinionated today.. usually i keep my mouth shut.. HORMONES |

No, you're not being too opinionated today...that's how everyone should be! I totally agree with you...it's so stupid that parents are trying to put a stop to something that's just a sport and SCRIPTED!!! And you're right, we shouldn't let the world and the media to raise our children...that's just stupid and moronic!!! I think they should leave the WWE alone... |

I agree. TV has become a form of babysitting for alot of parents. I'm a mom and a teacher. I'm from Holland, so maybe my way of thinking is different, I don't know, but..
I think the most important thing is to talk and to guide your kids, but as long as children are not able to see/understand what's real and what's not, because of their age/ emotional development I think it's better to keep them from watching certain programs on t.v. Young kids will imitate things they see. My kids do have a t.v. and a dvd-player in their rooms , but no cable(yet). Don't get me wrong, I talk to my kids about a lot of things, when they're ready for it, I'll answer all their questions, but children need adults to guide them. My point: Guide/talk to your kids and you'll know what you can let them watch on t.v.,don't try to get certain shows/programs/artists off tv, just watch another channel. http://www.everyoneweb.com/presleypaintings/ Lisa asked me :"Was it worth it?" My husband asked me:"What's your next dream?" I love them both, but I don't have any dreams left now.. cause it was so worth it,just dreams for my kids.. So now that you have made a mess off me And show me stars that I have never seen I know it's wrong why does it feel so right You haven’t got me yet but you might |

Well the problem is this: You have 2 different kind of parents..The kind who tries to teach their children right from wrong and what is respectful and what knot..And then ya got the parents who don't give a flip(we all know some) and then these kids are placed in the same school system together..So I can see how some parents gripe about it...BUT that is what happens when you live in a free country(THANK GOD I DO) Ya gotta take the good with the bad..And pray that you taught your children the right way and they at least THINK about what you have taught them when it comes to the decisions they make in life..jmo...But by no means do I think they should ban WWE..BC this is a free country da mn it! And to each his own..I loved Hacksaw Jim Dugan when I was younger,

Totally agree with you T. As we just took our boys to see Blades Of Glory. Thank God some stuff went over their heads. I've never watched Wrestling before, but it is the ones who DON'T teach their kids and don't talk to them and then they are thrown into schools with the ones who do know right from wrong that messes everything up. We are probably a little to liberal on certain things and too strict on others, but we have good respectful kids so we must be doing something right. I can't stand the ones tough who are ignorant and just complain like the extremists described aboved. Trashy CLASSLESS LOOSERRRRSSSSS!!!! |
