LOS ANGELES - "The Price Is Right" needs a host, and Rosie O'Donnell is interested. Very interested. The 45-year-old said on her blog recently that she was meeting with the "Price" people this week and that she "sure would" accept the job if they offer.

"I LOVE THE PRICE IS RIGHT," she wrote, the capitalization underscoring her feelings.

CBS and FremantleMedia North America, which produces the hit game show, have been seeking a replacement for the venerable Bob Barker, who retired this month after 35 years as the show's host.

Among those reportedly in the running are Todd Newton of the E! network, Mark Steines of "Entertainment Tonight," George Hamilton and John O'Hurley. But Barker said O'Donnell is his pick.

"She knows the show," he said backstage at Friday's Daytime Emmy Awards. "There's no doubt in my mind she could do the show. Now, whether they want a lady host, I don't know. I've never heard that discussed. As far as I know, they've only auditioned men."

CBS and FremantleMedia had no comment Tuesday.

O'Donnell's spokeswoman, Cindi Berger, was not specific about the ex-"View" commentator's plans: "Rosie is meeting with several networks about a lot of different ideas."

"The Price Is Right" is filmed in Los Angeles. O'Donnell lives in Nyack, New York, near New York City, with her partner and their four children.

No offence LJ, I just don't see her as a good fit for that show.. BB's gonna be hard to replace whoever they get to do it.

I think Rosie would be a great host for the Price Is Right! However, no one will be able to replace Bob Barker.

Yes, it will that's why I said I think she would make a good host for The Price Is Right! Are they showing re-runs of the show until they find a new host do you know LJ?

I just heard that since Rosie lives in NY & TPIR is taped in Cali it may not be feasible.. TPIR has no intensions of uprooting the set to NY.. if Rosie did the show, they'd have to tape a month of episodes in 4 days!!!

Also, here's some other celebs being considered for TPIR spot: Drew Carey, George Hamilton, John O'Hurley, former E! personality Todd Newton, & Mark Steines of Entertainment Tonight.

Who are these people the only person I reconigze on the list is Drew Carey.

George Hamilton has been in ALL kinds of movies/shows.. he was backstage in the video "Elvis: That's the Way It Is".. most recently I think he was on an earlier season of Dancing With the Stars. He played Dracula in the movie, "Love At First Bite". He's known for having a good tan & selling tanning products.. LOL

John O'Hurly is the host of the Family Feud currently.. he was also on Dancing With the Stars among other things.

The other two gentlemen mention have their respective shows listed by their names.

WELL, I KNOW ROSIE CAN BE A PAIN IN THE A.SS, MAYBE THAT'S WHY I LIKE HER, LMFAO. ANYWAYS, WHEN SHE HAD HER SHOW, SHE WAS A GOOD HOST, EXCEPT FOR THE TOM SELLECK THING, LOL AND I DON'T THINK SHE WILL BE PERMITTED TO DO A MONOLOGUE ON WORLD MATTERS BEFORE THE SHOW, STARTS, LMFAO!!!
