I was listening to the Elvis hour on Sunday that Todd Slaughter does and he said that Marie Osmond was coming to Memphis this August - of course he didn't say what she was doing there, so I wondered if anyone knew if she was going to be involved in anything that was happening at Elvis Week.

 I missed it this Sunday.  I checked the event's listing's on elvis.com for Elvis week...and didn't see mention of her but maybe nothing worked out yet? I also checked the Elvis week listings. I wish Todd had explained more as it would be nice to know if Marie was going to take part in Elvis week or if she is just visiting.

Maybe they don't know or it's up in the air or again could be coincidance, etc...

I'm a long time fan of Marie and her brothers. I remember many interviews where they mentioned that Elvis used to call their mother and have long phone conversations about religion and philosophy. Mrs. Osmond passed away 3 years ago, at the funeral her kids all paid tribute to her. Her son Merrill talked a little about Elvis and his mom. This is a quote from Utah's Deseret News:
"Merrill Osmond said his mother told him one of her first tasks in Heaven would be to look up Presley and see how he is doing. Olive Osmond and Elvis had shared many telephone conversations during Presley's career. I remember that as well and I think on a couple of the shows they would mention Elvis on "Donny & Marie". They also gave a couple interviews on tv where they would mention him and didn't they once say that they would see him in Vegas?

I think they did see him in Vegas. I know they met him, but I don't recall seeing any pictures of them together. Donny & Marie did a musical tribute to Elvis on their variety show, not long after he passed away. It was the first time I remember hearing the song If I Can Dream...loved it ever since!

Marie Osmond is big in designing porcelin dolls, she was on QVC tonight and mentioned she is having a "Baby Elvis" doll in honor of the 30th Anniversary. I can't wait to get it!!!!
