Hi everyone. I just wanted to take a little time to share something with you that is very important to me. Last night we held our annual Relay for Life walk at the local high school track. All proceeds from sponosors and vendors go to the American Cancer Society. The walk began at 7 p.m. and finished at 7 a.m. The ACS uses the money raised from the relay to help find a cure for cancer. Cancer robs thousands of people of their life, dignity and dreams.
You may not have a family member who has suffered from this disease but I`m sure you`ve known someone who has. A cure can be found! Participate in your local area`s Relay for Life and honor those who have beat it and remember those who fought bravely. My father passed away in 1991 from lung cancer. The doctors gave him 3 months to live but he lived 14 months. He fought bravely but in the end, he was tired of fighting. I was 20. This disease robbed me of having more time with my dad. I`m hoping that someday a cure will be found so that other children will not be robbed of their parents. i'm sorry about your dad's passing, unique...

I`ve only been involved in Relay for Life for a few years. Every year that I go back I get just as emotional as I did the first year I went. My dad and two of his brothers all passed away from cancer. This disease can strike anyone. It doesn`t matter what country you`re from, what color you are or what financial bracket you fall into.

I just got my relay for life T-shirt that I wear proudly! My mom even did the rockin chair event. It's a great cause for so many. I lost my Dad to lung cancer. He was diagnosed just before I saw LMP in concert for the 1st time.Within four months, he was gone. I also have a friend who lost her one son four years ago. So very painful for everyone!
