LISA MARIE PRESLEY expressed deep frustration on her MySpace blog Thursday, saying she felt "under the gun" when it came to announcing that she was with child.

"After being the target all week of slanderous and degrading stories, horribly manipulated pictures and articles in the media, I have had to show my cards and announce under the gun and under vicious personal attack that I am in fact pregnant," wrote the daughter of ELVIS PRESLEY, noting that all the attention she was receiving stemmed from her recent "weight gain."

"They [the tabloids] couldn't wait to find out if my weight gain was because I was just overeating, in which case it would be open season and they can do the old following in her fathers sad and unfortunate demise story again or less interesting for them and probably much to their dismay, I could just be pregnant and therefore have a legitimate reason for weight gain at which point they should probably wipe the saliva off of their fangs and put them back in their mouths or they may expose the black little souls that they are."

"It is unfortunate that I couldn't have announced something that is this much of a blessing and that has made us so incredibly happy under better circumstances," she adds. "How they have handled themselves with this has been nothing short of irresponsible and disgusting."

This will be the first child for Lisa Marie and her husband MICHAEL LOCKWOOD. She has two children from a previous marriage.

Lisa Marie Presley is pregnant with her third child. The singer broke the news on her MySpace blog, writing, "I am in fact pregnant."

The singer goes on to blog about the onslaught of media speculation her pregnancy has caused.


"After being the target all week of slanderous and degrading stories, horribly manipulated pictures and articles in the media, I have had to show my cards and announce under the gun and under vicious personal attack." Presley writes.


She compares the media to, "a pack of coyotes circling their prey whilst eerily howling with delight."

With the announcement, Presley is hoping for a respite from the media attention.


"Now that things are confirmed, hopefully they can stop all of the harassment and I can stop dodging the continuous bullets," she blogs.


This marks Presley's first child with husband Michael Lockwood. The couple was married in January 2006.


Presley has two other children; Benjamin, 15, and Riley, 18, with ex-husband Danny Keough.

The rumor mill went into overdrive when Lisa Marie Presley, 40, was spotted at a fast food restaurant last week, sporting a much curvier figure, and now her rep has confirmed to People -- Elvis’ daughter is pregnant!

This is the third child for Presley, following daughter Riley, 18, and son Benjamin, 15, from a previous marriage (not to Michael Jackson). It is the first for Presley and new husband Michael Lockwood. The two tied the knot in 2006. Her rep tells People, “They are incredibly overjoyed."

Elvis Presley died thirty years ago in Memphis at age 42.
