GO LISA !!

LONDON (Reuters) - U.S. singer Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis Presley, is suing the Daily Mail for an article alleging she was "piling on the pounds" and which forced her to announce that she was pregnant.

"My client is deeply upset and offended by this article, especially as it was widely published just as she and her family were meant to be celebrating her happy news," said lawyer Simon Smith, who will represent Presley at the High Court.

The Mail, published by Associated Newspapers, reported last week that Presley was gaining weight.


Presley, 40, wrote last week that she had been forced to "show my cards and announce under the gun and under vicious personal attack that I am in fact pregnant.



"Once they got a glimpse of my expanding physique a few days ago, they have been like a pack of coyotes circling their prey whilst eerily howling with delight," she wrote on her blog at MySpace.com.

"Starting with a London publication and then New York and Chicago all writing false defamatory degrading stories about all of the dark possible reasons I could be putting on weight," she added.

Presley has an 18-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son from her first marriage to musician Danny Keough. After that union ended in 1994, she briefly married Michael Jackson and then actor Nicolas Cage.

Yes Aol music posted about this. the comments were hateful and people were calling LMP stupid, unstable and spoiled and were saying she needs to get over herself. It made me mad. One guy actually said she doesn't need anymore kids she seems unstable. WTF. I hate people sometimes. They were so cruel. I hate articles that let people comment because no one ever has anything nice to say.

Always makes me wonder why people have such mean,negative things to say about someone they don't even know. I hope Lisa does win this case because of the vicious lies these articles spread.

I am so glad she is suing them. They're vulgar display of words is gonna gets its day in the High Court. It seems as though now, the tabloids may be watching their words a little more closely. Some lines they can't cross with Lisa!

Yes I agree. I kind of went off in my comment. I wasn't sure why he said she was unstable. Maybe because she married 4 times, maybe because she tried drugs a long long long time ago, or maybe because she's a scientologist. Who knows why he thought that but those are pretty much the main reasons stupid people judge her for. Get over it folks. Doesn't make her any crazier than most of the world. She's actually probably more intelligent than most of you hateful lot. And a lot of them kept having to add the usual she can't sing line too. which isn't everyone's opinion but whether or not you think she can or can't sing doesn't have anything to do with the actual topic. It's not an article on her career. I never understood why people always had to get that ONE in. That one little unrelated opinion on her voice in every single article about her. Get a life people. By the way Lisa You're stunning and beautiful, and smart, and I love you. I hope you win.
