Lisa Marie Invited For Elvis The Concert

Lisa Marie Presley has been invited to sing during the screen show "Elvis The Concert" in Memphis. Lisa is "considering" the offer, but chances are slim to none that she'll work with a different band than her own. Also, she most likely will not do any of her father's songs.

I really hope this is true because I will be there in Memphis for this concert.

I hope she says "YES", as this will be my first time to go to "Elvis the Concert" and Elvis week to honor her dad! It would be really wonderfull if Lisa does something extra special this year like that!

Why would EPE announce something like this, all other people appearing during Elvis week, are not announced until confirmed.

oh my my! I hope she will be there!

I realize that Lisa wants to be heard and known for being just herself, but i really wish she would do some of Elvis' songs sometime soon. I think she would really do them well. It would just be interesting to hear her sing them on an album.

I have my doubts (& I maybe wrong) that this recent news cuz EPE is not even calling the show "Elvis The Concert" any longer.. the name of the show has changed this year to "Elvis Presley In Concert". Lisa was @ Elvis - The Concert for the 25th Anniversary.. I think this info is pertaining to that show.

Like EAP stated, they don't post anything about the show unless it's confirmed.

The info came from an official Elvis site. They have a list of people doing this concert and it said at the bottom of it
"Many others have received an invitation to join the show. As they officially respond to the invitation, the cast list will be updated".
Someone must know Lisa has an invitation and is just waiting for her to reply.

ELVIS was her father, there would be nothing wrong in Lisa honouring him.

I so hope and wish she would say yes..It's something to be thankful those amazing musicians are still in good health and playing for Elvis with their maximum talent..this would be something to remember if Lisa sings with them in this concert..it's only for one concert..a tribute while the original band still with us and still able to play..they're getting old too.This is nothing to do with her career or being her own person..this came to a boring point,almost a f...taboo as if there is anything wrong for her to do something about her father..her "own father" .. Hey!! this is something to be PROUD of not to get away from.. Why should we expect her to avoid Elvis related music(in such an event)..

Yeah, Elvis is her father, nothing wrong in honoring him, it's VERY COOL, she did Don't Cry Daddy "with" him, and I think it would be cool to make a "duet" out of another song, but for her to sing and Elvis song on her own...... ELVIS did them, they are known and ELVIS' songs, there will be nobody that can perfom it as good as he used to, and it's not even worth trying. So what's the point of that? A tribute might as well be some song that Lisa probably created specially for him (unheard one) - to me personally, it would mean a LOTTTTTT more, and I'm sure Elvis would think so as well.... I'm sorry those who disagree, but to me personally Lisa performing an Elvis song would sound somehow weird

I didn't think "Don't Cry Daddy" sounded wierd...

If she wanted to sing "Love Me Tender" I think it would be really great! Or just any song that touches/moves her. I'm just saying I wouldn't be offened in any way if she did an Elvis song, if she did one of her own or maybe a new one she has wrote would be terrific too!

I agree with indre.
Unless Lisa wants to sing the songs her dad sang, people should just get over that. She does beautiful work on her own without needing to synchronize herself with him.
I can deal with her singing his songs fairly well, but even for me, it is really hard to listen without sad emotions. I don't know how she can or should even be expected to do it.
