This year has so far been a wild ride for Kelly Clarkson.

1) She had a dispute with Clive Davis from her record company. He felt her new album wasn't as mainstream and radio-friendly as "Breakaway" and repeatedly asked her to shelve it and re-record the whole thing without using the songs she had written. She refused to do this.

2) The first single, "Never Again", although it reached #8 on the billboard hot 100, never gained that much airplay and was pulled from radio stations a mere 5 weeks after it's release. A second single, "Sober" was rushed out but has failed to make much of an impact thus far.

3.) Kelly and her manager got into an argument over the direction of her music and career. He agreed with Clive Davis about the "My December" album not being as mainstream, and felt that it would not sell near as well as "Breakaway". Kelly fired him the day after the argument.

4) Kelly just announced a few days ago that she was cancelling her "My December" summer tour due to low ticket sales.

Clive is one of the best producers (If not the best one in the world) he knows what he is talking about.

She did cancel. If you've already bought a ticket, they're giving refunds. The tour will be scheduled for a later date (prolly later this year or early 2008, depending on the album sales), but it's only going to be small venues, not a big arena tour as originally planned.

thanks for the info. yes ill have to see what I can do with the tickets I have. Hopefully she does come back out, and if its smaller venues I'll be a lot happier! The place I had tickets for was HUGE!

Kelly knows that this album isn't gonna be as HUGE as Breakaway was, and she's fine with that. I've heard "My December" and it'a amazing. Especially songs like "Judus" "Hole" "Irvine", and "Sober"... Isn't that what music is all about? What ever happened to artists wanting to inspire others? As fans of Lisa, we should know better than ANYONE else about the troubles these select view go through everyday just so they can have something their proud of... Do you know how much easier it would have been for Kelly to take her 10 million dollars, recorded 5 pop songs, and called it a day? The album would have come out in Feb, shot to number one, and EVERYONE would have been happy... Everyone EXCEPT Kelly...

I'm happy that Kelly has put together something she's proud of. In 15 years will anyone remember "Breakaway" for the album? Probably not. I really think "My December" could have a deep impact on a lot of people's lives...

I understand what you're saying. Seems like Kelly & Lisa are going through the same things as artists.

Wow. Looking over my previous post, I realize that I was kinda quick... I didn't mean to sound like an ***, but I can't help it. I'm just as protective for Kelly as I am Lisa.

You guys should have heard me at my family reunion the other day. They were going through my CDs and someone said something bad about lisa. I spent the next thirty minutes *****ing about the music business today and how Lisa is the best thing to come along in a really long time.

I'm glad Kelly stuck to her guns!!! I bought 2 copies of her cd today! I still have lots more listening to do, but there are some k.ick a.ss songs on here!! And thankfully no c.rap (like on Avril's and Gwen's latest cd's...just my opninion!!! ) Good for Kelly for not taking the big payoff and making yet another fluff cd!! Did anyone ever hear a quote, I believe by Simon Cowell, calling Kelly the next Celine Dion? To me, Kelly has no aspiration to be another Celine! Maybe a Janis, or an Alanis or better yet, just Kelly, the rocker!!! No ofense to Celine, but that is so not the direction Kelly is taking!!

Yeah, that's not the direction "My December" goes for at all. Kelly herself said that she was always gonna put out a different album. She said that she's already thinking about her next album, and it's gonna be Country/Blues/Rock

Not sure if y'all heard but a couple days ago it was announced that Kelly has a new manager now. I guess Reba's husband Narvel has taken over as Kelly's manager. I only heard it once on the radio so if I am wrong I'm sorry for posting out of term.

NEW YORK - Kelly Clarkson has done a lot of talking about reports of a feud with Clive Davis over the direction of her new album, "My December." Now, she's apologizing.

"I want to set the record straight on this by saying that I want my band, my advisors, those close to me and my record label to be one big, tightly knit family," the 25-year-old singer said Monday in a statement posted on her Web site.

"Like any family we will disagree and argue sometimes but, in the end, it's respect and admiration that will keep us together."

For months, Clarkson has weathered _ and also fueled in candid interviews _ reports of a battle with Davis, who oversees her record label, RCA, over the direction of "My December," which was released June 26.

"A lot has been made in the press about my relationship with Clive," the former "American Idol" said in her statement. "Much of this has been blown way out of proportion and out of context."

"Contrary to recent characterizations in the press, I'm well aware that Clive is one of the great record men of all time," her statement said. "He has been a key advisor and has been an important force in my success to date."

Clarkson, who co-wrote every track on "My December," gives Davis kudos for releasing the album when he wasn't obligated to do so.

"I really regret how this has turned out and I apologize to those whom I have done disservice," she said. "I would never intentionally hurt anyone. I love music, and I love the people I am blessed to work with."

A spokesperson for Davis didn't immediately respond Monday to an e-mail from The Associated Press seeking comment.

"My December" _ which has yet to produce a hit single _ is No. 5 on Billboard's 200 top albums chart; it arrived at No. 2.

Clarkson's first album, 2003's "Thankful," sold over more than 1 million copies. The multiplatinum "Breakaway," released in 2004, cemented her status as a bona fide artist outside of "Idol" with hits including "Since U Been Gone" and "Because of You."
