Bree and I spent a lovely day at one of our favourite bookshop/plaza and had a delightful lunch at Johnny's Grille. At the bookshop I had bought a postcard that featured a painting of some cats and various animals in a farm setting.The cats were arranged in a way, that made our one living cat look like he was sitting in between three of our long passed cats, it was so so striking an odd, the looks on their faces, staring right at you in an all-knowing manner, that I bought it to keep in my journal, and ponder. I had just said to Bree, something about the kitties looking down at us from Heaven.With that I glanced up at the bright blue sky , we were sitting by a front window, and had been chatting about the newly designed dining room, I could see the corner of the building from where i sat, a tall pointed tower, bright yellow.Just then the sky filled with red webbed lightning, the tower ripped just under it's roof, and the center split open, a wall of red coursing down the center to the base.Red gushed out everywhere.The landscape was bleeding.
"Bree."
"Yes?"
"My eye just hemorrhaged."
If the apocalypse ever happens, I'll be the last to know. I'm getting really sick of the world just rending itself like that, it's hard enough to think that you're bleeding in your head, BUT, when what I "saw" becomes old hat, it's truly unnerving. I sat and shook about that for untold moments, Bree talking softly to me, asking if I needed to go home,etc. I didn't need to leave, they told me it would happen sooner or later, and yeah well, it did .Nothing can fix it now but another surgery, they taught me, how to keep looking to the right until the blob could be seen around, so i employed these tactics and adjusted myself. Thank God I hadn't been looking at Bree when it happened, I would have had a very bad Robin Williams/Fisher King moment We finished our lunch, took a drive, bought some art supplies, we came home, we painted. A few nights ago we watched some instant nextflix movies under Christmas lights, we watched a documentary on the homeless living under Penn station, it made us cuddle and appreciate our bed,it made us take vows that we'd always be together in a bed or under a station full of trains, we watched Rebel Without A Cause, and paused over the glory that was and is James Dean.Maybe the red jacket IS a warning? My eye could've destroyed any one of these instances, I wonder why it chose that one, what the straw that broke the camel's back was.It proved one thing though, that an instance destroyed by apocalypse, internal or external, is solved immediately by an instance of calm resolve .Onward.

sorry that happened..that su cks...and I hope the surgery goes smoothly...And I love how u take a situation(that most people would flip out in) and put it in perspective, and have a sense of calming about it..love that..and u KNOW what you have and you cherish it..lots of people can't see what is two feet in front of them..honour woman I tell ya, it's an honour to be on this board with you..

But I do know a lady who has diabetes and she just woke up one day and couldn't see at all..the day before she could see just fine..and she woke up blind...and there is nothing they can do for her...

your truly amazing, Pen.... Now, i know thats the last thing you want to hear, but sorry chickadee its the truth! lol I'm humbled by how you handled that situation. *hugs*

Had my appt this morning, I get to set up the surgery now,same ole same ole, kinds glad humans only have two eyes, wouldnt wanna go through this **** eight or more times,rofl.
