I dance with my shoulders
ankles knocking in cracked cowboy booted reverie forelock and cigarette employing devil-may-care gravity I squint with one eye the other blue gas jet mesmerizing those who tarry who disbelieve at first those who don't take into consideration the too comfortable mix of flea market cedar and salt water taffy as cologne I speak overconfidently loud when I talk about nothing, loud when my words fall as rhinestones soft when I take your hand a twirl you round the floor staring at pale flowers around your hem I speak overwhelmingly when I whisper my affections inconveniently pressed to you when the band plays a faded rendition of Delta Dawn Lost in this movie head tilted dog-like-sweet and mountebank-certain gum-snapping,trinket-winning carnival courtship bound,marble-filled-mouth persuasions how can you stand to not hold my hand? I'll loosen my tie and fold my game when the rides and the tents are folded up the same Snakebite and straw hat serious...
