Depends on individual perspective. I have a 3 psp programs, along w/a few other graphic programs. Again depends how much your into it and your comfy zone in cost???

I tried a sample program one time and couldn't get the hang of it. I see there are different brand names. I want to be able to make animations, avatars, etc. I have no clue what one does over the other brands.

It depends on what you want, what skill level, etc...I use several different programs for animation's, etc...
