In a poem, Britney once gave us a speech
Direct from her soul
But what did it mean?
Did she give us a recollection of her scene?
I've tried to remember who I am in these words from my soul
Unlike Britney, I've yet to find my role
I want so much to speak these words to the masses
If given the chance I believe I can inspire the classes
Both rich and poor
I'm knocking at your door
Won't you open up and let me in?
I'm trying to remember who I am
A poet with a cause
Won't you take the time and pause
To see me for what I am
A not famous man who wants to become your prince of hearts
Won't you lend me a hand and give me a start
For maybe I will become famous through my words and my art
Remembering who I am
I'm just a man
But you have seen these words speak to you over and again
With a far greater meaning then your words seem to send
Let me remember who you are
You are a slightly dimming inigma of a star
With your voice you may have gone far
But you have left behind this friend alone at the alter
WOn't you return to the scene of that time
For in remembering who I am
I will always continue to write your rhyme

My name is Daniel Reed. I grew up around Philadelphia, Pa. I was born in 1961 in North Dakota in a Air Force hospital. In 1979, I moved to Florida and went to college at Florida Institute of Technology. In 1983 I graduated from college at West Chester University in Pennsylvania with a degee in economics. I began to write poetry during my senior year of college. I eventually self-published a book of poetry in 1996 called EMOTION: THe Treasure of Love. I tried to get an agent by sending my book to the William Morris Agency and Creative Artist Agency in California during the 1980's. I love children and worked for the Department of Human Services and the Children and Youth Department in State Civil Service. I recently helped out the victims of the Hurricanes by working for an Insurance Company who assisted in paying their mortgages. I wrote a second book of poetry entitled Words that Defy Gravity and Time that includes poems on current affairs and my own new brand of short story that I have included on this website. I am currently posting my poems here and on the websites of Britney Spears and Madonna. I hope to land an agent for my new book as I would love to get into the public eye and recite my poetry for a wider audience. I am still looking for that special woman to enter my life and become my wife so I can have children and teach them the wonders of the world. I have just got on to e-harmony.com to see if my soulmate exists as I am not into the bar scene and I haven't found love here or on any of the celebrity websites. I plan to start my own website soon if I can't find an agent to represent me.

I hope that gives you a better understanding of where I am coming from. I own my own Condo in Brookhaven, Pa. and am currently living down the Jersey Shore at my parents house while I write and look for a job. Some people are born into the public eye but it has taken me 20 years of writing and soul searching to get that one break that will take me down the path to continue my writing and help my fellow man.
