A RAINBOW OF LOVE

When the rainbow shines, reality is altered
The sky lights up thru the brilliance of the sun
A speckled band of color becomes the gateway to the heavens
The shear beauty of its elegance radiates in the mind…
You take off and soar thru the heavens
Riding thru the open air, you never felt so free
The birds are your neighbors, thru their eyes you see
The sky holds the answers and the reasons why….
This is a feeling you cannot deny
Your eyes are wide open, the colors shine thru
Your world is so beautiful, so endless, so blue
Your feelings inside are so timeless, so new

You spread your wings, you’re feeling so free
Up, up, and away…across the oceans, above the sea
Beyond the mountains, the valleys and the trees…
You get caught in the rainbow, you see the dove
You look to the heavens; you look for your love
You see her eyes; your soul has been freed
You have cast out your sorrow, your loneliness and your greed
You see your life thru her; you see the flower in the seed
You no longer feel alone; you no longer feel the need

Once again, the rainbow appears
You have cast out your emptiness, your phobias and your fears
The magic takes hold, it begins with the eyes
You can’t feel your body, you take to the skies
Your love is beside you, you both see the light
Your love is inside you, you both see His might
Your love is in her, her love is in you
You both feel the magic, you both feel brand new

The rainbow appears, again in the sky
You look to each other and ask yourself why?
The rainbow appears, in the water by the sea
Again you feel the magic, the love, and the ecstasy
The power of love lies in the hearts of all men
So it is from within that the magic of love will always begin
And like the rainbow in the sky leads us to question why?...
The power of love will come from above………

(This poem was written with the loving inspiration of my Grandfather Perez, whose soul now rests in heaven and in my heart)

Woman and girl, Man and boy
Now is the time to live with joy
Husband and wife, lover and friend
Stay the course until the very end
Live your lives thru love
This special feeling that comes from above
Be kind and gentle, be open and true
Let the feeling fill your senses thru and thru
Let the feeling rush to your head; take the feeling to your bed
Rest peacefully in your sleep and the feeling you will keep
Keep the feeling alive; pass it on to your child
And if the feeling is true, it will tame those who are wild
Let the little ones be open and free
Give the little ones a chance to see
Give the little ones a chance to be
Listen for the truth that speaks thru the voice of youth
Offer advice and see them thru the years
And when they are frightened, calm their fears, dry their tears
See yourselves through them, look in their eyes
The feelings inside will tell you no lies
Learn from your children, see how they act
Surround them with love and create a pact
See them thru the years until they find another to love
So when they fall and two hearts again feel the pleasure
Give them all the love you can to help seal this treasure
And this new love that God has joined together,
Will see you thru the years and see them thru forever
Yes, children are the link that keeps the chain secure
Children bring us the gift of love and give us even more
So search for your lover, your friend and your side
Look in the eyes for a feeling so wide…

THE LEGACY OF THE KING


He came from a small town deep in the south
And made girls scream when he curled the lip of his mouth
They called him the King because he created his own style of song and dance
His music shocked some but brought others into a heated romance
Do you know who I mean?. He told us to follow our dream
Now he lives in our hearts...and his music has inspired other artists to start…
To start a career in music and song
With Elvis as a mentor you can't go wrong

With his love for Pricilla, he gave us Lisa Marie
To carry on his legacy

Elvis may be gone but his legacy is not forgotten
The legacy of the King is now left to Lisa Marie
To have and to hold and to carry on his name
Elvis may be gone but he has left Lisa to carry on his fame

If she believes in her faith, she too will be heard..
Like Elvis before her, she must believe in His word.
I'm not trying to preach because everyone has their own faith to follow...
But those without faith seem to be heartless and shallow
The King became what he was because he loved to sing from his heart and soul
So why shouldn't Lisa follow in his role?

So Lisa, be proud of your father and know that he gave the world so much love
For now he is united with Jessie in the heavens above.
God bless you Elvis and your Lisa Marie
Because this planet is now a better place for you and for me.

A LOVE FOR ALL SEASONS

A love for all seasons is precious and true…
A love for all seasons is timeless and new…
When two lovers meet and find this love to greet…
The days ahead will be peaceful and caring…
Together, they will have found the love that each will be sharing…
There will be no need for anger and pain…
The true feeling of love will forever remain…
It will endure through the years and see them through time…
Each knowing in their hearts that this feeling is sublime…
Yes, the magic of love will last for all seasons…
Through seasons of joy and seasons of light…
A love for all seasons will make each season seem right.

FOR TSUNAMI’S SURVIVORS

When people die........some people cry
When it happens to you.......this is what people do
Now think of a tragedy where multiple thousands die
Try not to let the feelings pass you by

They call it a tsunami.........a huge tidal wave bringing destruction in its path
Many innocent people have died dealing with nature's forceful wrath
Now we must help those in need
Those who survived need money and faith not false hope and greed

So those in the entertainment field must unite for more then just one day
And lead by example by inspiring others and showing the way

As I continue this poem you may be safe at home
But think about the survivors who have no place to live
Think about their plight and continue to give
If not a helping hand… remember to say a prayer at night
For the survivors of this tragedy who continue to fight
We can’t just let them fade away….they need our help each and every day
I'll continue this poem hoping you will see
That these people have witnessed a massive loss of humanity
It strikes at the human heart for all to feel
Yes, this tragedy was not staged, this tragedy was real

Let us take a break before we continue on
And thank God that this tsunami is gone.
There was no warning for the people in this tropical land
When the ocean rose up and delivered her blow…
There was no place for these people to go

It happened to them.....it can happen to us
We must band together in a spirit of brotherhood
-This is a must -

As the "Stars" banded together in a show of relief
I tended to believe that their aid would be brief
Instead of asking of the common man...They should band together and take a mortal stand to supply inspiration, money and time
Giving back to the people with a show of unity in kind.

There is no wall of fame between the survivors and those who give
They just want a chance to live
So lift up your multi-million dollar hearts and give to the families who lost their starts.....

The tsunami victims need to start their lives once again
The destruction will not go away overnight…
It is a horrible sight
So lift up your hearts and give what you can
I say this to the famous and also to the common man
We all need to work together to bring love and hope back to this ravished land
Isn't time we take a lasting stand?
The haves and have-nots must now work hand in hand so that God can heal the wounds….. Of the tsunami survivors and those who continue to mourn the loss of their children, their families and friends. We must continue to give them hope and inspiration until their suffering ends.

Through the eyes of truth lies the secret of youth
And so it must be found…for all to astound
Youth, Wisdom, Security…Love is the key for all to see
Love is the reason…..Love is the season.

Those 6 American moon bases that we left behind may no longer be called home

If we choose to lead again...
We must do so with added vigor, direction and a common sense plan
For our youth desperately need a sense of purpose
and a moon called Luna may yet turn out to be their promised land.

We see our future in a grown up world
We must love and protect them as they grow to be old
When we make our stand it is for them we become bold
So as you pass each day with their light in your eyes

For children are the reason we exist on this earth

Can you still recall the social revolution of Martin Luther King?
If Dr King's legacy is to be more then just one day...
We all must remember the struggle we overcame in a peaceful protest way
The youth of today may not remember the fight
But for some of us it remains in our sight
So on his holiday and all throughout the year, be with your family and remember his cause
Take time to listen but let us not pause
We must continue to demand equal rights wherever injustice grows deep
Or the roots of human cruelty will again in our lives seep
So let us praise Dr King for taking a stand
And maybe modern day society will see the true greatness of the man.
