I want to be creative again, paint something but I just can't.. I don't know why, but..

I even bought new materials two months ago, and I want to start doing something, but something is stopping me and I don't know what.

I 'm even looking at my "old"
work and thinking I can't do that again, r even better..

Please help me, give me some inspiration, hope r good thoughts..

I wish I could help Dutch but I am in the same boat I have not created anything in a long time, with the exception of the portrit for my cousin ~ but that was for a special occasion with a deadline .. which somehow motivated me ??

All I can say is go outside - go to nature and maybe it will inspire you.....

OR

Music .. change it up and listen to things that are out of the ordinary for you or something that you have not heard in a while - use headphones. Maybe it will spark something.

I agree with Mojo's suggestions just go outside and let nature inspire you and listen to music that you think would inspire you and just see what happens!

Good vibes to u Dutch! Another suggestion: Just pick up the paints and do something. Give yourself permission to do anything. Doesn't have to be beautiful or unique. Just put that brush in your hand and paint something, even a bunch of lines and colours. That helps many with writers block. They just set a time, get on the computer or tyewriter or pen and do something. Eventually, the spirit will move you and the "nothing" painting will turn into a "something."

Usually with me that means that my craft is going to shift a little, like instead of two dimensional try three, like painting ON something like a box etc, or maybe write some more, tease yourself out of the funk....like, knowing you want to paint so look at other paintings that you know you could do better than...or read a book you dont like, it'll make you angry enough to want to do it better.Sometimes I think our creative battery needs to recharge and shuts itself down into sleeper mode for a bit, just like anything else, dont let it worry you, it only means great things will ensue.

I did read it and I did all kind of things, I've been looking at paintings, pictures, listening to music, taking pictures in the forest..

So. you'd probably expect , I'm gonna post a super-painting, maybe even right out of my heart, very different, maybe even abstract..
NOPE, LOL..

I ended up painting and it's not a portrait of Lisa r Elvis, so that's special anyway, for me.

I'm working on Graceland, but it'll take some time, it's not huge r something, but it's in oils.

I've been working hours and hours on it already , but hee, it's a building for g-sake.. lol soooo not my thing..
I do love Graceland, don't get me wrong, but buildings are not my thing and oils are hard..
Every layer has to dry for a very long time.

Anyway, I hope it turns out good enough to post, but it'll take a while..

Sorry to hear that my friend,but I so well know how it feels.. same here with me and it goes worse.. hope you (we) can shake this off..

My advice is - if you don't want to draw/paint - DON'T. The inspiration will come when it wants, lol. I hadn't drawn in 5 months AT ALL (since May). Now during the weekend I made 3 drawings (one of them was the Lisa one), this being my monthly average before, lol. The inspiration WILL come, and you will make some good works then. If you don't feel like it, don't do it - you won't be happy with the result. I'm at least talking from my own experience, lol. Maybe for you it might be different
