Cat, an actress and owner of her makeup business- Cat Cosmetics, has on her website not only great makeup products but she always posts a montly inspirational message that is so AWESOME! I really enjoyed this months, especially after just watching a special on the American Movie Channel about the "Wizard of Oz", so I had to post it... here's an excerpt of it...


When we start to figure out why on Earth we are really here, is when the magic of life begins to happen. When we trust the process, we get peaceful, we meet great people, and we don’t have to do push so hard to “make things happen.” We can actually loosen our grip on things.

Within us all are dream makers and spell breakers. The day we awaken to that fact is the day our lives truly begin. What has you believing that you can’t do something you have always wanted to do? What has you believing that life is something that is just happening to you? Or that you are less than the magnificent being that Maker created you to be?
These limiting programs are all just illusions that we create.

When I was growing up, and heard the word “spell,” I always associated it with voodoo of some sort and rejected the word immediately. Now as an adult, I understand that “spells” are something that we create in our own minds, by believing the things that others have told us about ourselves. There is no one with a doll somewhere sticking pins in us, or putting eye of newt in a boiling pot. Spells are created by words and how we choose to use them.
Sometimes another’s words are about our “limitations,” sometimes it is about our personhood, for example, when we are reduced to being labeled.
I ask you, how can others possibly tell us what is in our minds and in our hearts or what we are limited by? Sometimes in life, we are led to a professional, or a loved one that can illuminate things for us, but unless it feels right, we need to be careful to whom we are listening. Believing the words of others is earned with trust and respect. We are not here to put bad spells on each other. In fact, we can just as easily put a good spell on someone by being supportive and encouraging. We can also do that for ourselves. We can choose to reject that which does not ring true in us. We can begin to love ourselves just as we are, while changing that which does not feel authentic. We know when we are not being authentic because we are not at peace within.
We are also capable of being “spell-breakers” by going on a quest to know ourselves as much as we can; and friend, that’s a lot.

In my favorite movie of all times, THE WIZARD OF OZ, there is a scene in the end that just says it all. Dorothy and her friends the Scarecrow, The Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion finally get to that far-away, impossible, and magical place, OZ. They were off to meet the Wizard. The Great Wizard of OZ had everything they wanted and needed.
They struggled mightily to get there, fighting evil forces and fear the entire way. Each was on a quest for something they wanted desperately. Once they arrived, they discovered that not only was the Wizard a fake, but the bad witch, the very bane of their existence, merely had to be doused with water to be destroyed. Nothing was as it seemed. Our heroes went through so much to get there, to search for their magic, only to discover that each already had the very things they longed for within.
Their magic, was already inside of them.
The Scarecrow had always had wisdom. The Tin Man had always had heart. The Cowardly Lion had always been courageous; and Dorothy had always had the ability to go “Home.”
In fact, each of them displayed all of those qualities at some point of the STORY brilliantly. Wisdom, Courage, Heart and a strong sense of Home are the essence of humanity. Still, she had to learn to click her red ruby slippers three times while BELIEVING they would get her to where she wanted to be. Home.
Like it said in the last line of the script, they “never had to look any further than their own back yard.”
That is also true for us.
When we look for the magic of our very own truth, love will surely find us.
