Ok I am sitting at my desk at working logged into youtube listening to Elvis music, In the Ghetto was on. One of the regular UPS men come in as usual and I mention that I am listening to Elvis and how much I love him....he says did you hear the news about a tornado going thru Tupelo, MS. He said the first thing I thought of was oh please dont' let it have hit Elvis's Birthplace house. Then he asked me if I have ever been there? I said no, but I plan on it in the next year. He went on to say how wonderful it was and then you can drive right up the hwy to Memphis and see Graceland. He went into detail of how he was expecting it to be all alone, and probably at one time it was(which it was) but how stores, apartments now surround Graceland and THEN you see THE WALL and Gates and there it stood his house. He was most impressed with the back office. He said he remembered seeing the interview after he came back from the Army, sitting behind the desk and file cabinets behind him. He said and now they don't let you in there but you can stand at the door and look and I was like there they are!!! He said he is going to bring me an Elvis Christmas Album. How cool to talk to someone that loves Elvis just as much and be so excited to talk about his Elvis/Graceland Experience. I told him I wanted most to see the jumpsuit collection and he said OH he saw that and they have an entire room dedicated to all kinds of stuff(raquetball building)

What makes me giggle is how the mention of Elvis' name can spark conversation! A typical day is UPS man comes in gives packages, I sign and he is off......the first time in 2 years we actually conversed! lol

Just wanted to share such a bright moment in my morning today. I hope this lightens your hearts and brings a smile.

What a cool story! It amazes me the power that the mention of his name has. Just yesterday my husband and I were at puter listening to some of his live performances and we were craking up at some of the things he said on stage. We have heard it a million times but still cracks us up! You just never get tired of listening to him! Jonee I'm glad you are getting a chance to go to Memphis! You will love it...!
