My take on it is kinda like “D.amned if you, do D.amned if you don’t”. I don't think there is a clear cut answer to give tho.. just depends on the individual.. What everybody else has said sounds good too. I remember listening to Lisa tell a cute story @ one of her shows.. About her hearing her Dad say, “come here, you little sonuvab.itch” to someone or something like that, but I don't think that has anything to do w/ this song.

I agree with CC, I think she is just saying no matter what she is wrong in this certain situation. Exacly dam.ned if you do and dam.ned if you dont.

I know I have felt like a SOB no matter what......you cant do anything right or to please some people.
