Oh man the hurricane that is hitting Texas is massive!! They said the hurricane is actually as big as the state!!! It looks to be as bad as it can get. Wow. Those poor people that did not get out...

Man I hope it turns out to be not as bad as they predicted. But from what I'm seeing on the news...it's gonna be bad.

Galveston was under water earlier today...This is so NOT GOOD! 10-15 foot water surge with 25 foot waves on top of that

This is going to be even worse than Katrina in damage.

Ok, I just talked to my Mom, she lives in Houston where the eye of the storm hit and they are one of the 4 million without power this morning. She said part of their fence fell and that is all they know for now. Its still raining so they cant tell if there is more damage. My sister and brother in law lives in Katy, TX not far from where my mom lives and I have gotten to talk to her yet so I dont know if they have power or not.

I tell you I moved from the Houston area about 3 years ago and was ready to get away from hurricanes but I have to say I would rather be in it with my family right now than over here without them. I hate these dam.n storms.

Finally talked to my sister. They are without power also but are hanging out in the garage watching the storm coverage on a little b/w tv that is hooked up to my brother and laws car via a cig lighter adapter....lol She said there is alot of damage in Galveston, buildings burned and this one hotel has, well had this ramp that led to the hotel. That ramp is gone and you cant leave that hotel parking lot without that ramp.
These are stores where my family and I have shoped, resturants we have eaten in and all kinds of places that have been apart of our lives for years. Its nuts.

I hope everyone down there gets situated pretty quick. Was just watching the news...Dang that thing wreaked havoc

Glad ur family are ok Htown....I used to freak out when my family was in Florida and the storms would come...Power outage bites but...It could be worse. I hope everything gets up and running soon. It must be miserable over there with no AC.

htown, so glad your mom & sister are doing okay, I have been following this hurricane & it is just so devasting...been having you & your family in my thoughts & prayers...It gets worse & worse with every year anymore...I am just hoping they get everything restored out there rather quickly, as possible, as well as the other devasting hurricanes have hit, may them get restored quickly also.

Hey HT, we were thinking about your mom, and hoping things weren't so bad. We're glad she is fine, and now the rush for a generator. Geez we should all have stock in these generator companies, and Home Depot they are making a killing on these dam.n storms. We spent almost $1000 on a generator for Duggies' family. arrgg

Htown, these hurricanes scare me to pieces but you know that. My prayers and hugs are with you and your family.

They are scary, you just dont know what to expect.

Its so sad to see so many businesses my family and I have been to, shopped in and eaten in now gone.
