Does anyone have any advice for me as how to keep my cat from getting out of my apartment? I am in a wheelchair and I just can't run after him.

is he a kitten? We used to let our cat out all the time, he'd always come back when he was hungry, and in the evening before we locked up.

Spray him with a squirt bottle everytime he does it,it might seem mean but it'll make him stop running out,it might take a while but it eventually will work. Or before you go open the door put him in a bathroom or bedroom w/ his water and litterbox, then let him back out when you come home. this link might be helpful..

Def water bottle...Every time he goes near the door. Cats can be trained...I know he/she prolly wants to go out so bad....Also you might want to get some of those grass plants that they sell or grow some even better...and a cat nip plant. It wont stop him from trying, but might make a happier indoor kee kee.

I'm in a wheelchair myself but have never had the problem with an escape artist cat. As others have mentioned a spray bottle works well. Super soaker works better. Even just giving them a nudge out of the way may help, they learn slow but will eventually get the message.
