Gosh , yesterday at about 8:00 pm the sirens started blaring down the street, and I was sleeping at the time, I jumped up, and remembered that Rosary had called and said there was a Tornado watch for that night. I grabbed TIKI, and the phone and grabbed some pillows and a blanket and ran down stairs!!! I heard the rain coming down strong, and called Rosary who was at work at the time, I sneaked up stairs and turned on the TV and it was flashing that a tornado had been sighted and was coming east towards us, and to seek shelter immediately. I ran down stairs again, and called my mom, and told them to get in the bathroom, cause they live in a condo. My mom was scared and lit candles and prayed hard. The sky was so weird and it got real quiet, all of a sudden. I snuck upstairs again, the tv was on and it said it was expected to pass thru Lake Bluff , which is the town I lived in down a short way, at about 8:30. So I went downstairs again, and I laid on the floor and waited. Man , was I scared for Rosary, cuz all she had to hide was the cooler at work, and mom and dad, in that bathroom. Thank GOD, it missed us, and the storm went over the lake. Man, today, it was ugly too, raining like crazy and all green, geezz. this weather is nuts.

I bet it was. I am just glad you guys are alright. I haven't been in one and I dont want too.

Phew, That is some scary stuff..I am glad your all ok. We were thinking about you guys when we heard..I havent looked around much yet...Has Lil been here? I know Indiana was getting hammered too Be safe people.

I hated when that happened in Iowa
Darkest grey sky, rain then hail, heavy thunder and lightening
and sirens going off.
The weather is real man.
We got stuck in a refridgeration (sp) cooler at a restraurant (sp) we were at
when a twister landed
then the next big one I almost had to spend the night at my middle school
many of times spent in the basement with sirens going off
crazyness

I'm here! thanks for thinking about me, Syd! The weather has been mad here too! Luckily the tornadoes havent gotten near me, but it is one bad thunderstorm after another!
Usually we go from spring (lots of rain) into summer without this volatile weather.. crazy stuff I tell ya!

Yay good!!! Glad ur ok...Su cks the storms are so bad So much for a nice spring ey? Weather is just nuts everywhere man...It was 52 degrees yesterday morning and by 2pm it was 90. I know it doesnt compare to what ur going thru...Just nutty tho

yeah, been one of years for the midwest, just a record outbreak of tornadoes this year. almost had one touch down last week when it past through kansas city on 85th st. last year was a tough one too, greensburg, ks. was hit and it almost wiped the whole town out. last month when i went to alburquerque, we past through greensburg and it still needs alot of rebuilding. all you see is the concrete footings of where the houses were. we've had some micro-bursts here in liberty, manhatten, ks., ottawa, where the roofs and trees were the major damage.
yep we've had more than our share of rain, tornadoes, thunderstorms for this area for sure, i can see where/ why the midwest is known as "tornado alley"..........

yes that would of been scary glad you guys are ok, ya last weekend we've had tornados come close, ontario seems to be tornado alley, one of these days we are going to get it. Anyway everyone have a safe summer exspecially with all these storms we are having.

when i was little ...in memphis there are no basements really ...coz of the clay or something idk. ...but i remember many times jumpin in the tub w/ a mattress. ..scary. ...

yea guys, it looks like we are all in the same boat. LIL, did ya see what happened at the Dells, Wisconsin??? It rained so bad the lake filled up broke thru the road and washed out to the river. The lake IS GONE!! The houses just fell into a pile of mud as the lake was ****ed up. I had never seen that before, I guess we will be seeing alot of firsts from now on...
