The first time I had heard that LMP had launched a music career was when I was sitting in my bed ~ after my then 1.5 hr commute .(yeah .. BS Mad). decompressing from the day and watching Much More Music when they aired the 'Lights Out" video.

I immediately called by b/f (at the time) who is a musician and asked him if he had ever heard of LMP sing or heard any EMI/Capitol buzz about her new album. I wanted to look into her music a little more so he bought TWTMC for me for Christmas and I have never stopped listening and being a supporter of the talent that she has chosen to share with us ...

(ASIDE: I came from a musical family who has ALWAYS had music in our home in some capacity .. Elvis being number one - for my mom Big Grin ... I was "due" to be born on EP birthday and as usual I was late .. born 5 hrs b4 LMP's birthday of Feb 1 (diff year) - late Jan 31 .. so I got her kick a ss name Wink ..plus an additional middle name b/c apparently one was not enough .. LMFAO!!!. and no, my mother never tires of telling that story..LOL Eeker

I FIND IT ASTOUNDING HOW MUSIC CAN HAVE SUCH AN EFFECT ON YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL .... Red Face

Ooohh this is an old thread, lol, but here goes for me....

I caught a glimpse of a preview for Lisa to be on the Diane Sawyer show (the 2nd time, not the first!)... and she said something that was funny and bad a.ss totally like the way SHE is, and it caught my attention, and I was thinking...I like her attitude! So I watched. Thats when I found out we had alot in common. I thought she was totally COOL, and such a strong woman for having been through so much!
If I remember right, I didnt necessarily know that she was putting out an album. I went to the store the day that it was due out and was there to pick up a GODSMACK CD and saw hers sitting next to theirs, lol. So I picked one up and thought I'd give it a try.
The rest is history......luv her!

I'm loving this thread! So I'll throw in! Smiler

I've always been a HUGE fan of Elvis since I was like 9 years old when I saw the Aloha special on TV in 1973. I was in a one parent household and Elvis was someone that I admired so very much, and was devistated when he passed. I still love listening to him to this day his music is the BEST!

I'm also a huge music fan just in general(not just Elvis) i have a huge collection of albums and CDs probably over 5000. Anyways fast forward to 2003 and the LMP debut CD is announced to be coming out! I never even knew she had an interest in being a singer! I bought the CD the first day it came out... OMFGGGG I FRIKKIN LOVE this CD!! It is the BEST thing I have heard in AGES! I love her voice and the way she writes, its all just so great! I wanted to see one of her concerts sooooo d.amn bad! I went to see her at the Stage Fair in Dallas in 2003... AGAIN blown away!! I'm sure she won't remember this but(well i swear she was looking at me) and she waved at me from the stage! I was freaking out at this point folks Big Grin My friend got to go backstage and meet her that night and I thought that was so very cool. I didn't get to meet her that night but I have since. I have TOTALLY enjoyed every single concert of hers I have ever seen! I've seen her twice in Dallas and twice in Kansas City and once in Miami Oklahoma. I can't even begin to describe how frikkin cool she is to me... she stole my heart... is what she's done! Big Grin Keep it Lisa, its yours!

Her music ROCKS, her concerts are FANTASTIC... she is SUPER Friendly with her fans! What more could you ask for? Absolutly LOVE HER! Smiler

She's a new Killer Star... indeed!

well let's see where do i start.lol ok when i was a kid i had a hell of a hard time finding one band or just one person who i really liked. I went through a series of stages, Inxs, Micheal jackson, beastie boys (yes i said beastie boys lol) Bon Jovi (which i still like) and i dont know they just didn't do it for me, but the funny thing was i was in band in school not just regular band, Jazz band, concert band, marching band and i gained the rights to pick out songs for us to perform. For some reason i always picked out Elvis. They were catchy and not boring and fun to do. So i get out of high school and Still wondered why i don't really have an interest in one Band/group or artist. So i get this CD "Elvis Live from vegas" My God i found it i thought. what a voice, what energy. I really liked his creative aspect he gives to music. So i become really interested in Elvis, I even start an Elvis fan club, then I start reading about Lisa marie and I always thought she was so interesting even before my Elvis experience.lol. Well fast forward to about the year 2000 and and the same thing that happened to me in high school happened again. I just don't care for "todays music" much. So when i started reading about Lisa doing an Album i was very interested when i heard "Nodody Noticed it" at the 25th anniversary concert in memphis I was really impressed. So I stay interested and just adore Lisa. finally i have an artist of Today I love, respect and admire. I never would have thought this time last year i would get to meet her. My Lord she is like my idol.lol So Thanks to Her fathers music, that led me in the right direction to one awesome artist! I really respect her for her own music and what all she does for her own career. She is very creative and talented and It's very inspiring to me. I really admire her for her and the road she had made for her own music, doing it her way and nobody else's. So now im hooked and can't wait for the next cd! Lisa's music is so refreshing and just freakin awesome! You Rock LMP! Big Grin

Well, I first saw Lisa on VH1's All Access and the second that I saw her on tv, I was drawn to her and couldn't change the channel. I thought she was beautiful, and just something about her personality that pulled me in and I've been hooked ever since. I watched that show over and over and every TV appearance she made, I made sure I was watching it and the rest is history.

It is terrible to admitt but I hardly even new LMP existed. My husbands friend bought her first album. He let us borrow it for a while and I really loved it! Then in 2003 my husband and I went to see Lisa in concert at The State Fair of Texas! OMG!!!!!! It was so amazing! I liked LMP before the concert but after the concert! OMG I was in love with her and her amazing talent! I feel my love for her and her music grows every single day! Keep Rocking Lisa! Big Grin Big Grin

Then went back and bought 2 more so I would have one for each car. now every car has both CD's in them and waiting for a third!LOL Wink

I remember hearing Lights Out, and not liking it, but after about the 4th time I loved it, so I was trying to find the single and could'nt so I thought well I guess I have to wait to buy th cd, so on April 9th of 2003 I went to buy it, I went and got it and put it into my cd player listened and I was HOOKED! Two days later my Step-sister died, so the cd became something more than just another cd, it became a cd that I could listen to and feel better when things were not going right.

ok here goes nothing.....

My son got sick and we had to stay home from school/work.

I was laying there on the couch with my eyes closed trying to nap. I wasnt asleep I was listening to the tv (VH1)if that makes ANY sense at all and the VJ says " Lisa Marie Presley" I immediately shot up off the couch turned around to look at the TV.
As a child I knew who Elvis was but never heard anything about his daughter.
I inherited that Elvis bug. I was born in 1981 and my grandmother made sure I was educated on everything Elvis. She caught me up on the 30 years of rock and roll I had missed.. lol... except his daughter...
After I watched the video... I went out and I bought the CD...
I became interested in who she was and what she was about and thats how I found you all... awwww... now I tell other dummies who she is and what she stands for .. and it is NOT ELVIS and it is NOT effin MICHAEL JACK OFF..or that other guy she married..
and when Im standing in line in the cottonfields of Mississippi and some big haired red lipped redneck woman on her cell phone looks at me and says
" Duz she play any her diddys meusik??" I simply look at her and scream ~ HELL NO!!!! LMFAO.. sorry I had to ... LMFAOOOOOOOOOOO

How I became a LMP fan...Hummm...I always been an Elvis fan since I'm a kid...And I always been facinated by the Presley's family...And I discovered that Lisa did a CD when her first album went out and I was curious about it....By at that time I didnT' had a lot of money to buy the CD...So I waited...But I've heard her single Lights Out and I liked the style of music and her voice...God, she have an amazing voice...And the when ehr second CD went out...I decided that I was going to buy it...And my love for her music began...But now I'm trying to find her first album, which is very rare in Québec...There is no demand...And we never hear her music to the radio...I'm really sad about that...But it was the same for the Dixie Chicks...But, hey, they finally came to Montreal after 3 CD's...Maybe the people will wake up and notice that Lisa Marie Presley is a genious and she rocks.... Let's see this goes back a long way. It was at the 20th Anniversary Elvis concert that I first heard Lisa sing. Priscilla came out and played a video that Lisa had done with Lisa singing Don't Cry Daddy with Elvis. I'm not one to normally cry but that was the saddest video I had ever seen but it was also just soo touching...anyways just hearing her voice I got really excited because I thought it was wonderful that she coudl sing too. I started telling everyone...who of course thought I was crazy. Then I kept hearing that she was putting out an album and could not wait for it to come out. Needless to say I have been a fan every since hearing that and then listening to her own songs just sealed the deal for me!
