pen, i'm a white chocolate freak myself, cos i'm not supposed to have regular choco anymore and on ur note of mortality etc, the following will explain why this thread makes me so happy...
a few days ago i found out a beloved family member, paula, who's been fighting colon cancer for 2 yrs, and whose dec ct scan was normal (and they thought they had gotten it all then), now has stage 4 cancer in the lungs and liver, and is incurable, tho she's going ahead with trying to buy herself more time... this woman has been thru things many of you will understand, many will have no idea, myself included, how she does it. she's been raising my niece as a single mom the last 5 yrs and never gives up and is so humble and i'd love for any prayers for her and/or positive thoughts. she's a fighter, even when it appears on paper there's no hope... just now, i heard word that my cherished brother in law was turkey hunting with his brother, they're a very close knit family, and bud dropped to the ground, dead on the spot. ray tried reviving him, to no avail... all i can hope after his going thru something like that is that is that they shared laughter and family memories as they spent their morning together, and i'm grateful if bud had to go, he did so doing something they both enjoyed so much... life can and does change in an instant, and that's why, as i get older and this hits home harder and harder, i try to avoid negativity and try to cherish any and every good thing... even on a sad day like today, i will find things that make this day worthwhile and tomorrow i'll wake up and do the same... cos when it comes down to it, it's happy things, like this thread, that make a life well-lived... Definitely sending good vibes to Paula and to Bud's family and you who loves them both.A lot of people here will do the same ,I'm sure. *hugs*UFO, may I say your smile has an enduring peace behind it,one that makes the negatives shudder in their tracks.Thank you for sharing Paula's story and your sad news as well.I actually went and sat in my backyard for a while to think and watch the world a bit before responding,wanted to get those vibes in gear ,I guess.
We will all be saved one day from trauma by the good we do wherever we are.I firmly believe that.I hope you're doing well, it seems you have a great and steadying sensibility about you. Bless!! thank u, pen, for the thoughtful and appreciated words, and the positive vibes. i just found out that ironically, bud said 3 days ago that when his time came, he wanted it to be while hunting, not in a hospital, tubes, nursing home, etc (but he wasn't even unhealthy). said it was what he loved most to do. and he got his wish, with his baby brother. you can't beat getting your wish, when it's time, so that's my good thing for the day, in a day of sad things. i believe, which is what i think you believe, that when push comes to shove, it is our good that speaks loudest, our actions while here...
