Today is the anniv of Sparky's passing, so needless to say we hate this weekend. Panda went to vet on Wed. to have fluid taken out he is such a good boy, he is getting used to it, he's actually recovering very quick now, he will eat afterwards which the first couple of times he didnt alls he would do is sleep, so he is still doing good, I was worried about this weekend being the passing of Sparky, Friday nite the worry changed to Ralphy, went to give him his water. And he was out of it, you could see the whites of his eyes in the corners and he was unbalanced. At first we thought it had to do with his sugar. So we gave him some corn sryup and waited half hr and then called vet, this was 11:30pm. He said to not give any insulin for one day and drop dosage to two and if he wasnt better next day call him. Well his eyes are better, he is still unbalanced and we think it has to do with his eyes, I dont think he can see. We have to put his food right up to his nose before he will eat. He is constantly going into corners and staying there. When he goes to get down off bed he will put his paw out to see where he is. He has messed a few times which is nt his fault I dont think he can find the litter in time. He doesnt seem to want to rest he was sleeping on bed a couple of times yesterday but I think he has alot of anxeity right now. So we have him upstairs and have blocked areas where he will get stuck. I'll be calling vet today to see if I can get some pills to help him relax. I'm not really sure how Ralphy will deal with this or what is causing whatever, so he will be going to vet. So not a good weekend, I just hope he can cope and I hope its not a tumor causing it. We need lots of prayers and good vibes..........thank you for all of your support.

Julie, we are sending ya lots of love and warm fuzzies for the little ones. I think I'm finally getting what it's like to love a pet like your own kid. Tiki is teaching me this, to be more attached to the cuties. Many warm wishes for your kids.

awwwwww thanks Lj glad to hear Tiki is teaching you, it is very rewarding and it is nice to be loved back. I called vet today and we are doing all we can at this point, Ralphy goes tues morning to spend the day at vet. The vet said he will adapt so it will take some time. I have a neighbour that will be checking on him while we are at work. To change his water because he has been putting his paws in it, putting litter in it which is no good. Im going out today to see if I can find a food dish that has adjustable height on it so he cant just put his paws in it. So I'm glad to hear he will adapt, it will be just finding out what the cause is of all this. Vet said he wouldnt be able to tell if it was a tumor it wont show up on xray. He said it could be a few things causing it, so anyway that is where we are at for now. I just hope there isnt more going on with this.

Thanks syd, I went out on Sun and bought a adjustable food dish, there is two stainless steel bowls and then stand. Its meant for a dog, they dont have anything for cats, so I got it anyway because Ralphy keeps putting his paws in the water, and also putting kitty litter in with it. I bought him a bed one of those furry soft tent like things, I figured he likes going into corners maybe he would feel safe with something with walls and nice and cozy for him. I put him in it and he went to sleep and hes been using it ever since. He slept most of the nite in it which was really nice to see. I'm really worried about tomorrow, because I think vet is going to say he needs to be put down, having to go to work tomorrow and then go to vet to find out any news is going to be a tough day, I will probably call at some point of the day because the not knowing will kill me. I really didnt like the fact of leaving him at the vet for the day and if we do have to put him down, I just didnt want to see him spend his last day there, which he hates so the whole thing is very upsetting. But at least I know he is in good hands, I really dont know what to exspect but I'm sure it wont be good. His appetite isnt the same at all he is drinking on his own but just not eating enough and he is weak in the back end, he is walking but does fall down here and there. There has been much provement since Friday, but I dont know if it will be enough to keep him going. I will need lots of prayers and major good vibes for tomorrow I think it is going to be a hard day.

A very sad day today, took Ralphy to vet and he said he had a stroke to the head, there was nothing wrong with his eyes, so that would explain his falling down when he walked, the kidney disease was out of control and that played a major factor in his illness the vet felt that it was Ralphy's time to go, so that is what we did, I came home from work and so did Cyndi we spent some time with him before hand but anyway the whole thing blind sided us because Panda was the one we were watching. Anyway the whole thing ****ed and I still cant beleive he is gone, Ralphy was such a good boy one of the best cats I'll ever have and We will miss him dearly.Thank you for all of your support

There are no words that can make you feel better right now...But your baby is safe comfy and cozy right now..And you are and will always be an awesome Mom.....Your in my thoughts and prayers. awww this is so sad.. He fought to the end it sounds like, and he had such a loving mom, and family.. You did the best you could for him and for all of your cats. He'll be chasing the birds in heaven now, with no pain or impaired eyesight. Take care of yourself, Julie.

Thanks Syd and Lil, thank you for your support I really appreciate it. Last nite Cyndi and I went out to eat and I started talking about Ralphy and I started to cry, its like not in the restraunt. Today I went to vet to pay my bill and the girl brought out this box well I just lost it because he wasnt suppose to be back so soon and I didnt exspect it, it was tues. he passed and today is Sat. It is so nice to have him home. So today we went out and got 6 8x10 frames and two different styles of 4x6 the same color etc of the 8x10's I bought one of those lights to go above paintings well this will go above their pictures on the shelf where the urns are going. And I finaly found the two white mini rose bushes for Ralphy and Panda to go in our memorial bed we are making for them each rose bush will represent each cat as they pass. The roses were hard to find so I got Panda his. He is still ok he was outside for the longest time today it was nice to see. He doesnt like his paws wet lol!!! My week at work I was able to hold it together as long as people didnt ask me about it. I have my bad days
exspecially when I know its not over yet, so its tough going. I did make a decision if and when we do take Panda I'm going to take one of his hammocks with us so he can go peacefully in that because he loves them so much and it will be familiar to. But either way you look at it, it is so hard putting them to sleep.

Well took Panda to vet to have fluid taken out, and he also had a chest x-ray done, well some encouraging news I think it is allot better than what we thought. He couldn't find any tumours. I asked him could there be any hiding that he couldn't see, he said no he didn't think so, the fluid still tests the same. He just doesn't know where the fluid is coming from and if it is repairable. He said he will be talking to internal specialists from university of Guelph and I am to call him on thurs. But Panda has lost another 2 lbs which isnt good so we need to find out what is going on soon and stop the weight loss. I had a unsure feeling today about him going so I took a vac day, to take him in good thing I did he was struggling a bit and also bit the girl alittle. So I was glad I was there for that to keep him somewhat calm. He still isnt out of the woods but the news is encouraging. I asked if the people from guelph didnt know what was wrong is it ok to continue just taking the fluid out and he said yes of course. So hopefully we can find out what is wrong. Please keep praying and sending good vibes our way, it is very much appreciated. Will let you know what he says on thurs.
