I was just wondering how many Lisa Marie and Elvis fans here believe in life after death. I'm going to share a story that happened to me just three years ago. My dad passed away in 2004. We were not really on speaking terms. I got dad three Christmas gifts in 2003, but didn't go to see him on Christmas so the gifts were never delivered. They were still in my room.. Then dad passed away in May the following year. I was extremely upset. I didn't talk much to anyone. Well, three weeks later my mother and I was sitting in the living room talking and a small puff of smoke slowly floated between us. I said, "Something's burning!! It must be the cealing fan!" I got up and checked the fan and it was alright. Then I realized, the smoke was floating in a straight path. It wasn't being blown down by the cealing fan. Then mom said, "You don't think that could have been your dad do you?" Well, I thought about it and suddenly the hair stood up on the back of my neck. I then realized, something extraordinary had just happened.

Now, stay with me folks because the interesting part hasn't happened yet.. Later that night I went to bed. Just as I began to fall asleep I suddenly found myself standing in a room filled with a very thick fog. You couldn't see the walls. In the center of the room was a very large trunk. I opened the trunk and there was all of dad's clothes. I took a blue checkard shirt out and there was a tag hanging off the left pocket. The shirt was brand new! I then said, "I wonder if dad's funny looking checkard pants are in there?" Then dad's voice said, "Yea, they're in there, next to the bottom."
I couldn't believe it! It was dad, but I couldn't see him. Then I asked, "Well, Dad! What is death like?" Then Dad said, "I've been assigned a piece of property that's so large I can't even walk across it. I might have to get me a mule!" I then asked, "Dad, have you seen uncle Joe?" "Yea, I saw him!" dad then replied. I then said, " What does Joe think about it all dad? You know, death?" "Well son, he's just like me, he don't understand any of it." Then I started to cry and I said, " Well dad, does this mean you'll just fade away and we'll never see you again?" And then dad replied in a very soft voice, "I'll always be close, Bill."

Then I woke up and I was staring at the cealing. That was the strangest dream i've ever had, or was it a dream? Did dad really talk to me? I'll always wonder...

I def. believe in life after death. A year ago my best friend was killed and she has come to me in dreams many times. I believe that when you dream about a loved one that has passed on it is really them coming to visit you in your dreams. Smiler

I believe that it is true too, I've had my mom come to me in my dreams a few times to give me a message. Sometimes I am unsure what that message was when I wake up, but I can still remember her presence, when I really wasn't even thinking about her.
Also, when my grandfather died at home, he was lying in bed telling my grandmother that the light was too bright and to turn it off, above him on the ceiling... well of course there was no light there!

i believe in God and Christ's ressurrection and, therefore, very strongly believe in life after death. My perception of Heaven makes it kind of hard for me to grasp the idea that a person themself would come back to visit us, but perhaps that's just something i need to think through a little more ...i definitely think, though, that God has a message for each of us if we're willing to listen and that situations like the passing of a loved one are the exact kind of time he'd need to speak to us. i dont see why he couldn't use smoke and dreams to do that! =]

Hi everyone:

Thanks for your replies to this post. I also believe there's something after death. I haven't ever experenced another dream like the one I posted above. There was something about that dream...

Beth, I believe the dream did ease the hurt I was feeling at the time....You know, it's funny that dad didn't explain exactully what was on the other side in great detail. Maybe there's rules there about going into it in great detail. I don't know... He just let me know about a piece of property he was assigned, he seen Uncle Joe and he told me he'd always be close....

Ya'll know something else? Dad passed in 2004 and not one day has gone by that I didn't think of him....

There is no doubt in my mind. Our bodies are only temporary vessels for our our souls.
If we would only listen, we would know that God talks to us every day.

I fully believe in life after death, death is merely shedding our outter shell. I can't wait to find out what comes next!
