Just a quick update on my health. The military thinks they may have FINALLY figured out why I have been getting so many stress fractures in my legs and feet. Apparently I broke both my big toes awhile back (probably while running) and it was not a big enough break at the time for me to really notice or do anything about it. And because of that, both my big toe joints healed wrong, causing a bone bunion like deal that now has made my toe bent at a bad angle and causes me to walk on the outside of my feet, displacing my weight wrong. Which in turn caused the fractures. Sooooooooo, next week on the 22nd I am undergoing surgery to hopefully correct this problem. They will do just one foot at a time since the recovery is so long. What they are going to do is shave the bone down, cut out some of the bone, break what is left of my big toe bones and realign both the bone and tendons and then put screws in. I will be on convelescent leave for 30 days after that and will at first just have crutches and heavy wrapping until the foot reduces in swelling and then I will have a walking cast on for a few weeks and finally a foot "boot" for another three/four weeks. About three months later, we go thru the whole thing again on the other foot. I am so not looking forward to this at all, but I am looking forward to not being in as much pain due to fractures. Now if only they could figure out the rest of my health problems!! LOL.

I hear you about the toes. I broke the same toe two different times. I will have to have that surgery in the future. I wish you luck.

Thanks Ms.Capri, Q and Lisafan! Hopefully these two surgeries will get me off this F'in Merry go Round thats called my health. Or at least slow it down some.

Yeah..Must be the Irish in me ay? Note: while I really do have bad luck sometimes, I also have had so many adventures and met so many people from all walks of life that it makes up for it........KINDA.......LOL. Looks like tomorrow is the day. I am just trying to keep myself busy by cleaning up around the house and doing laundry so as to not worry about it when I am laid up. I have to call in about an hour or so into the Hospital so they can tell me when to come in tomorrow. Hopefully its early in the Am and not drawn out all day.
